>Doro is awesome.
In more ways than one.... give that woman a battleaxe and you'd have a real livfe Frazetta painting.
>Have any of her solo albums?
Unfortunately; no, but I've heard some of her stuff. She's kinda like Dio in that her singing is so unique any group she's with becomes an extrension rather than a separate entity.

Hmmmm....
Where to begin?
>I love the music of Loreena McKennitt.
Me too. "All Soul's Night" is the theme for one of my characters.
"Where's the Fire?" is a great song too! I still haven't been able to track down a digital copy. (I have TONS of music on tape.... stuff that's never been released digitally.)
Should I be concerned that I know most of the stuff you guys have mentioned on this thread?
My list? Here's a few, by band:
The Creepshow: Sell Your Soul (If Disney ever does "Faust" this HAS to be the big number)
Run For Your Life (another character theme)
Rue Morgue Radio
Big Rude Jake: Blue Pariah #1
Chilli Bean's Final Carouse
Rotersand: Exterminate, Ahnillate, Destroy
Nightwish: She Is My Sin
Planet Hell (Best. Song. EVER!)
Manowar: Hands of Doom
The Crown and the Ring
Call to Arms
BOC: ME 262
Dancing in the Ruins
Warlock: All We Are
The Monks: Bad Habits
Suspended Animation
Lethal: Obscure the Sky
Fates Warning: Life in Still Water
NOFX: The Idiots Have Taken Over

Oh I totally remember Mary My Hope, they were a great band and played here in Augusta Several times before and after getting some airplay.
Nik Kershaw as well, kinda ignored here but yeah huge in the UK.
VoiVod is a great band as well, some really off the beaten path stuff as far as late 80s/early 90s goes.
Anyone remember Danny Hutton Hitters and the Song Wouldnt It Be Good from the Pretty in Pink soundtrack?

I listen to so much underground and obscure music, I could probably make a list a mile long that most here would never have heard. Don't worry, I won't!! lol
But here's a couple of songs that I really adore that most have probably not heard....
MARY MY HOPE's "Wildman Childman"-- Excellent rock from Georgia circa 1989. Kinda like a mix of The Cult and David Bowie.

NICK LOWE's "So It Goes" (A big hit in the UK and elsewhere, but kinda flew under the radar for the most part here in the States. I'm sure a few of you here know of Nick and Rockpile, and you guys are cool in my book!)

EDIT-- Oops meant to add this next one in my original post, somehow I erased it!!!
BIG WRECK's "That Song" (This got a bit of college airplay and was on MTV for about two seconds here in the U.S. and then it was gone. I know these guys were a bigger hit up in Canada, but I rarely find anyone here in the States who knows of it, and it's a real shame. I think this is one of the best songs I've heard in the last ten years, hands down.)

VOIVOD's "Clouds In My House" (Canadian prog-metal band, loved in the underground but never really received mainstream success. Probably my favorite metal band of all time. This song is from the early 1990s when they went slightly more prog and less heavy, but very catchy in a Rush/Floyd kind of way.)
p.s. Canada makes some of the BEST music ever, it's kinda crazy.
