I feel you on this, I used to write alot when I was in hich school and college and the first line was always the hardest. Some others gave good advice I think, fill out some other stuff first , character backgrounds etc... and go from there.

Okay... there's a simple recipe for storytelling: start with what's called the "point of attack"... that means action. Don't worry about exposition (backstory), you can sprinkle that throughout. Make sure you're raising the stakes throughout (it's called rising action) until you reach the high point of the story (the climax), then bring it home quickly. Wrap it all up (called denoument or "untying"). This is how all great stories are told. Trust me, this comes straight from Aristotle.
Think Star Wars or Raiders and how those go to the point of attack right away (Star Destroyer or booby traps in the cave) , then keep raising the stakes at various intervals, getting those characters in deeper and deeper trouble. Finally, we attack the Death Star or open the Ark and it all gets wound up from that point.
