Somebody stop Hollywood now please. Seriously. They have gone beyond out of control. I am sick sick sick of remakes , remakes of tv shows, remakes of remakes and remakes of remakes of remakes. I am also sick of 99.9 of the people that call themselves actors today. The only acting they are doing is acting like they are an actor. And I am sick sick sick of Rappers, Pop Divas, People who are famous because they are rich, Rock Stars, SPorts Stars and so on that think they are actors. Stop it. Stop it now. I said sit down.
sorry for the rant, I guess Im old school I dunno, its just getting old!!

Oh yeah another thing irks me too, this trend of 80s and 90s rock stars thinking they are country stars now. Somebody sit them down too.

Oh yeah let me add something else too , I am sick of seeing crap like Saw 9 Electric Boogaloo This time its Revenge.
Stop with the useless sequels too. Usually the first one sucked, we dont need 15 more in 4 years. thanks.

Funny thing is, if Moe was alive today, he'd probably be all for it -- as long as there was a buck in it for him

All fanboy anger management issues aside---
it's a week before April 1st---I'd bet this is a joke.

Even if it ISN'T ---if Sean Penn ever decides to this ---it'll be a respectable
project---Penn rarely gets involved in lame projects...and he can act circles
around just about anyone....Penn'd do Larry justice---again, that is, if he
ever granted the project with his skils.

I totally agree with livingdeads statements but on this one I'm mixed feelings.
I can see it totally sucking but I'm still not quite sure what it's supposed to be.
They say it's not a biopic so that means the actors are going to basically be recreating the Stooges based on the original actor's characterizations.
Other than totally HATING Sean Penn; I can almost see this being entertaining as long as they don't demean the Stooge legacy. But with Sean Penn in it I would skip it anyway.

IF this is real...Penn hasn't comitted yet---so you may be lucky enough
to see it anyway----unless, of course, there's someone ELSE you hate
                  in the Larry role.

Funny thing is,Carrey is one of those actors I don't enjoy watching,
yet I enjoyd THE TRUMAN SHOW...basically, I always leave room for seeing
movies even if there's an actor I don't like in a role OR if it's a "remake"----

                  why?

                  the movie might actually be......."good"

I know what you're saying and there are plenty of actors I can't stand. I used to not be so picky but without getting into a long explanation and possibly a message board argument; let's just say i think some actors should keep their mouths shut unless they are playing a role. When they try to tell me what I should be doing with my life then I don't want to contribute to their paycheck anymore. Plus some are just wack-jobs anyway. (like Tom Cruise).
Carrey is a 50/50 guy to me. Sometimes he's great, other times annoying as hell.
Regardless if a movie is good or not, once an actor/actress makes my personal "crap"-list, I can't stomach them anymore so I boycott their films/work.

Ah----I see----'nuff said there....I am powerless if this goes outside
of the actual "art project/entertainment" environment.

Yes, I admit, that I don't see actors that way...then again,
                      I'm not "motivated" like that.

To each their own in that regard.

Jim Carrey is so 1994. Penn has been in some good films in the past but well, havent bothered with the last few.
This is one of those situations where a studio takes a few floundering actors and tries to reemerge them in "all star cast" movie.
I like the 3 Stooges, they are still funny today. They are funny because of when they were made and who was in the films You cant relive the past and recreate something. When are all the toolbags in Hollywood going to see this?
You keep hearing things out of Hollywood like ticket sales are stale etc... Well gee I wonder why? Give me something worth paying 8 bucks to see and then getting a 28 dollar coke and popcorn in a theater filled with nimrods yapping and texting on cell phones and , gee people might go see it.
I honestly think the days of theaters and big Hollywood films are very numbered. Its crap like this and what I stated above. Well but then I stop and think that we live in a society where people like John Mayer sell millions of albums so, maybe I am wrong.
Anyone who saw Indianna Jones and the Crystal Money Tree oops I meant Skull can attest to this or I can see it now Star Wars Epsidode 9

This has to be a joke.

The Three Stooges were very short dudes...Jim Carrey and Benicio del Toro are both six-footers plus.

While on the topic of remakes, my wife and I really, really enjoyed the new Friday the 13th remake. I think they captured the 80's horror flick feel perfectly with that one. I like movies that strive to be something, but I like a movie made just for fun as well.
