    "Hush Puppies" ***Not the Shoes***

I just finished off a plate of 6 hush puppies left over from when we went out and ate Saturday night.

Anyone not know what these are? Easy to make, and darn good!!!!

I like them a lot, but around these parts the only place to get them is Long John Silver's

They're just fried onion bread balls.

        Nothing much to hate

You haven't had a good South Louisiana made hash puppy, made out of Zatarain's Fish Fry.

As for Long John Silver's, we don't have those down here, too many great seafood restaurants.

Most seafood places (LJS, Captain D's, Red Lobster, etc) sell hush puppies. Pretty common down here and along the gulf.

I've loved eating hush puppies for as long as I can remember.

I usually pull out the Louisiana Hot Sauce to put on them.

We bring them home for the dogs. That's all they are good for, treats.

Cornmeal, egg, onion, and some hot grease...it's heaven. I remember family fish fries. My grandmother made the best hush puppies. Those dry balls you get at the fast food places couldn't hold a torch hers.

My grandmother used to make these humoungus ones, I swear they were the size of rolls, I used to wolf those down one after the other. They especially rule when they are hot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
