How do you conduct yourselves at concerts ?

The other thread reminded of some stuff I hate that goes on at almost all concerts.

Now, bare in mind -- i'm not talking about concerts where audience participation is part of the show like most punk, rap etc stuff.

    1. I hate when the audience sings along with every song.
    It's like SHUT UP !!!, I didn't pay $xxx.000 dollars to hear you !!!

    2. I hate when the audience feels the need to clap along to every song ...

    3. At a sitting event, I hate when people stand through the whole show.

You would hate going to a concert with me then cause for what concert tickets cost you bet you arse i'm singing all i want. And don't worry if you can hear me singing at the kinds of shows i go see that is the least of your probs. If you hear me over say Motley Crue.
clapping are you serious there or just being funny? Maybe at a jimmy buffet show or something. How dare an audience enjoy themselves.

Last show I went,.. I tried to behave...
I went to Velvet Revolver & Alice & Chains.
Took the Boy ,.. we had a blast, took him down in the mosh pit too.
Keep in mind,.. is was no Pantera Mosh pit either.
But it was fantastic... We camped over night..

Usally I am a Social Drunk,.. completely slammed, so into the tunes,.. very talkative , boobie watching... most of the time, I can't talk for 3 days, because of all the yelling & cheering. fun times.

I used to go to concerts sometimes in the 80's and early 90's, but my last real concert was Roger Water's In The Flesh 2000

I sing, clap, stand, dance, stomp my feet and SCREAM!! In fact, I usually warn the people sitting near me that I'm a screamer. Once though I forgot and this older lady got up and moved. Hey, what do you expect at a David Cassidy concert?

Most of the shows I go to are hard rock and metal so I scream , yell , mosh(not as much as when I was a kid dont like getting kicked in the face as much)and get drunk!!! BUT.....the last show I went to was THE TRANS SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA the day before thanksgiving. It's what my wife wanted for her birthday. It was a sitting event and I still jammed out and clapped and had a good time.Like was mentioned before....If I pay $175 to go to a show.....I'm damn well enjoying myself

When I was a kid, I clobbered Dave Mustaine in the head with a piece of sod at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin during the Clash Of The Titans show. We wanted to see Slayer at the time. We were rude teenagers that took no prisoners. Alpine Valley used to lay fresh sod before every show and everyone ripped it up and threw it at the bands. I got a nice chunk and let it go. Right in the middle of Holy Wars.....Dave was singing away and Whap!!

Today, I am not like that at all. Last professional show I saw was Ian Gillan (Deep Purple vocalist) at the Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee. What do you think fo that Steve Moore? Oh yeah....you know about that one
I got to meet my idol and it really wasn't quite as extreme as I used to be. I am more mild and like to listen and rock hard to my music.

Nothing ****es me off more these days when I see kids moshing at a King Diamond show. Do they even know who King Diamond is?
Some little punk flew over and landed on my brother's girlfriend. We leaped into the sea of people and swirls of fists flew everywhere (that was about three years ago.) It was violent and fun. I don't think I could handle a night like that again (who knows...)

I play in a band that has the opportunity to meet a lot of bad *** metal acts around here. We jammed with Kittie, Sevendust...etc. (got plenty of pix to show for). Not quite as extreme as Paul and Larry from November's Doom but we have had our little private concerts. We get to start all over again this summer. Maybe we'll team up with Paul and Larry and have a Mego Metal Meet this summer ?

Since there is probably only two metal bands on this board that we know of (Fatal Agenda and November's Doom.) It wouldn't be much of a Mego Metal Meet.

I'm in a hard rock band and reading posts like Wrath's bring out
the worst in me----I can't stand when concerts get out of hand----
---I find nothing fun about fearing injury or worse because
fellow concertgoers (or audiences at my own shows) feel that
violence is part of the equation at any show.

I do however look at rock shows as a spiritual gathering akin to a raucous
Baptist service or the like----standing, shouting, clapping and stomping---
dancing or whatever should be encouraged and enjoyed---although
there are many that disagree with THAT.

I guess, again, it's just all about opinion of what's considered "too much".
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

Depends on what kind of concert. I listen to a big variety of music, and some of them don't lend themselves to screaming and throwing things at the musicians.
At the Los Lobos show, and many others that have been in grassy areas, I found an open spot and danced, even though I was all by myself. The times I saw Patti Smith, there wasn't quite a mosh pit, but I joined the group of people near the front, jumping up and down with fists in the air. They Might Be Giants did a lot of audience participation, so even though I stayed in one area, I stood up frequently to clap, sing, or whatever they asked for. But a lot of the blues shows I've seen were in theaters, so I pretty much sat and grooved in place. I guess I really never truly sit still, there's always at least part of me dancing.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

My last concert was Jimmy Buffett in Atlanta...everyone there was happy. The only problem I had was a VERY drunk lady that cut in line in front of me at concessions. She was afraid that I was going to buy "all of the beer" and not leave any for her. What a blast - seeing Buffett riding his beach cruiser bike on stage.
