    Any cosplayers in the house?

I was just wondering. Wondercon opened my eyes to a different world...and it's never too early to start thinking about Halloween.

For more of that world, you should check out Akihabara, Japan. That place has whole stores catering specifically to cosplayers, and cafes where the waitresses are dressed up in anime, etc. costumes. Plus cosplayers are just wandering the streets at times. That place is the world's Cosplay Mecca. (but I go there for the toy stores and electronics stores. The whole place is just geek paradise)

Jessica, you already know that I dress up, but I've never been able to put together an outfit like your Zira. I usually go to Conventions as a Jedi, because you don't have to look like anyone specific. I have dressed as Shaak Ti once though. The only multi-day event I usually make it to is the Pittsburgh Comicon, and when I went to San Diego I didn't feel like packing everything I'd need for a costume. I'd like to start going to other cons, but I don't know if we can afford it right now. The character I'm working on this year is Baby Bonnie Hood, from the Darkstalkers games. But here's a link you should check out - My friends Jamie and Josh are pretty hardcore cosplayers and have even had their trips to conventions paid for, just to show up and do photo sessions. Here's her website: http://www.pixiekitty.net/

Wow. Your friend's website is GREAT!! What a life!! If I were young....*sigh*

Anyhoo, I am just looking forward to making another costume for Halloween. I've found something easy to pull off. I'll just spray paint my silver boots white, buy a blue cheongsam and modify it. I want to be Chun Li, some character I had never heard of but saw a couple of at Wondercon.

I would love to go to the SDCC but I already know I would not be allowed to do that.

Still working on my husband so I could go to DragonCon in Atlanta, though. Don't know how I could pull that off but I would have a blast with my friend when we go ape together.

Jessica, I've only seen one pic of you without Zira makeup, but if I recall correctly, you'd make a pretty good Chun Li. I've been losing weight, so hopefully I'll be able to dress as some of my favorite superheroines before I'm 40

Thanks, Del. Yes, I believe I can easily pull off a Chun Li. It was a toss up between Isis and Chun Li...but I think Chun Li this year.

If I can't find the right blue cheongsam, I'll just have to make it from scratch...but no biggie. There is lots of time from now until then.

Congrats on losing weight. It's a tough road to be on, but my sister went from a size 12 to a size 6. (She hired a personal trainer)...and now she is slowly being taken off of her medications which were controlling her high blood pressure and pre-diabetes.
