Like them ok, greatest gimmick band on the face of the earth. When they ditched the makeup and theatrics, it was a big mistake.

It actually salvaged/electro-shocked their career----the makeup had been
              played out at that point.

Once they took the makeup off theier album sales and concert attendance
improved climbing onwards to more significant numbers than they had
seen since Criss' departure in 1980.

As far as KISS being considered juvenile----well, yeah, any band that
sells lunchboxes and the like is going to attract a lot of little kids...
and, you'd think that was the point.

They had songs bordering on disco and concept rock....still...
they've always been a hard rock band at heart though....depends
on how sacred you consider hard rock. They aren't SLAYER by any means.

I'm a KISS fan---but it's hard to "love" a band that is so obviously
motivated by business. It's pretty dang odd that they haven't
              released new material since 1998.

12 inch figures are a bit too big for my tastes----especially since
                      I didn't lust after the 12 inchers a kid.

I was VERY lucky to snag a nice 8 inch CUSTOM set off of ebay for
                      like... essentially nothing.

The only problem with 'em was the hair---they had fuzzy wigs instead
of rooted hair. I'm experimenting with having Ed sculpt something for 'em.

Dunno when they'll ever be completed ----but they'll look great---
AND they'll fit in nicely on a shelf with other 8 inch Megos.

I post on another board with many KISS fans so I've always got "the news
                              update".

Regardles thanks for the link and reply.

I look forward to seeing them put out another album, yes.

                              But it's been ten years.

I miss the days when they'd average an album a year.

They seemed more like a "real" band then.

I loved them when I was younger..I even did a high-school term paper I entitled "Gene Simmons, God of Thunder". I got a C, but it wasn't Gene's fault. I still enjoy listening to their older stuff, but I'm troubled by 60 year-old guys in spandex and leather.
