Saturday Night Trivia Contest- WALT DISNEY ADVENTURE EDITION!!

Tonight's trivia is all about one of my favorite Walt Disney movies, an all but forgotten high-adventure film from 1974 "THE ISLAND AT THE TOP OF THE WORLD". Let's watch the trailer from the movie, shall we?

YouTube - The Island at the Top of the World (trailer)

A good little film, but Disney was evidently hoping for a spectacular and this kinda didn't make it. Still, the airship is really cool, and I'm a sucker for that turn of the century explorers stuff!

And, now on to the trivia contest! For any newcomers, here's da rulz:

I'll post five (5) trivia questions related to things from the 1970s (& maybe early '80s)...first person to answer all of them correctly will get a little prize package of some random 1970s things like paperback books, comics, magazines, etc...random Mego Museum cards, and whatever assorted 1970s oddball goodies I come across.

Now don't get too excited...you're not gonna get anything worth a million bucks. Actually, the junk I plan to unload on the "winner"...excuse me, I mean, the fine collectible items I plan to offer as prizes will entertain you (I hope), and we'll all have a good time.

STARTING IN MARCH (WHICH IS NOW!) LIMIT IS ONE WINNER PER MONTH, SO IF YOU'VE WON PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ANSWERING AND GIVE SOMEBODY ELSE A CHANCE.

As far as the answers, please try to keep them all together in one post so we don't have to jump around collecting them all-someone can beat you to the punch by doing just that, so again, all 5 in the same post. If you get one or two wrong, please correct yourself again with all five just to keep things coherant for everyone involved, thanks!

Oh, and please remember that all answers are subject to the final decision of the judge, which be me, so no arguing, it's all for fun, so let's not get crazy!

So without further ado, in the words of the Immortal Navin Johnson, "Step right up and win some crap!"

#1- WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THE AIRSHIP IN THE FILM?

#2- WHAT WAS THE ORIGINAL NAME & AUTHOR OF THE BOOK THE FILM WAS BASED ON?

#3- THE FILM'S STAR, DAVID HARTMAN HAD THREE SUCCESSFUL 1970s TV SERIES- NAME THEM.

#4- WHAT WAS DIFFERENT ABOUT THE GULF OIL PROMOTIONAL VIEWMASTER SET OF THE FILM?

#5- WHAT WAS DIFFERENT ABOUT GOLD KEY'S RELEASE OF THE COMIC BOOK MOVIE ADAPTION OF THE MOVIE IN FEBRUARY OF 1975?

OK, there you go, and Good Luck!

I saw that at the movies.
    Remember ABSOLUTELY nothing about it.

    I'm out!
I still confuse it with the Carpenters song.

Oh man! I remember this movie, but I could never remember the name! All I remembered was David Hartman was in it. I'd love to see it again.

Hi everybody...sorry this is a week late, but I was away on vacation, and I'm just now getting caught up with my backlog of stuff!

Nobody answered all five questions this time, which means either:
A: I picked really hard questions!
                    or
B: Nobody gives a horse's patootie about the contest or the Disney film. I'm thinking B is the better choice here.

For those of you who might be interested, the correct answers were:

                    #1- THE HYPERION
#2- THE LOST ONES by IAN CAMERON
#3-BOLD ONES, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, & LUCAS TANNER
#4- THE PROMO SET HAD FOUR(4) REELS INSTEAD OFTHE USUAL THREE. THE REGULAR RETAIL SET HAD THE 3, AND AN EXTRA REEL WITH ADDITIONAL SCENES WAS ADDED TO THE GIVEAWAY SET.
#5- THE COMIC BOOK MOVIE ADAPTION WAS PUBLISHED SIMULTANEOUSLY IN TWO DISNEY COMIC BOOK EDITIONS IN FEBRUARY 1975: WALT DISNEY SHOWCASE #27 AND WALT DISNEY COMICS DIGEST #51.

For anyone that cared, another difference was that the original book storyline took place in 1960 (present day) and Disney's version backdated it to 1907.

I'm going to be putting the Trivia contest on hiatus for awhile, since it seems that only a few people are interested in playing- I only had a couple responses to the last one I did, and even being away for a week didn't cause any reaction, so we'll see how things go and maybe try again with it a little down the road.

I appreciate the participation of the few who played along, hope you liked your prizes. Thank you.

I was busy this saturday night and figured I missed it but just realized there wasn't a new quiz till i saw this post today.
I would like to say thanks for the contests and the prizes for the one I did win were cool.
This one was a little uninteresting to me, plus I had just won a couple weeks prior so I didn't really try.
Perhaps a revamp of the format would elicit more participation?
Maybe a "live" quiz with more questions for points in the unused chat room would bring people in? First correct answer gets the point. Mad google searches would ensue.
