I agree with you,its no less than the football or baseball players that get hurt. Its a job and if they don't perform they don't get paid. They do what they have to do,some just don't have control.

        wrestling has changed

So sad, csxerine thanks for the list, I didn't reallize so many of the wresters that I watched in my youth died so young, by the way what did Ms Elizabeth die from. It's the sport, the fame, the money, same old story. I quit watching professional wrestle on TV back in 95. It had become more flash/hollywood then sport/entertainment. I still enjoy watching old matches from the 70-80s thou. Those days, regionally speaking, there was less showmanship and more ring action, they were real people. I have one DVD-R of the matches out of the Portland Sports Arena, were a wrestle, Dutch Savage, in an interview thanked the fans for the get well cards/for visiting him in the hospital while he injured, thanked his church paster and even told what church in the Portland area he went to. You don't see that in wrestle anymore. It become big money and star fame.

...and the list keeps growing and growing...and it seems that they are dying younger and younger as well.

Drugs! Drinking! Roids! Sad they go down that path. I really dont get it. Life is short enough as it is, why speed it up?

To be honest...I no longer get sad...they refuse to learn their lesson...they keep stuffing junk into their bodies...I'm all out of sympathy for these guys unless the death is not drug-related.

I get that, but You because you enjoy wrestling for the sport and not the looks,Like for example Mexican wrestling, those guys look like crap but can wrestle and entertain so you've been use to that. But you know how fans are in the USA,if the wrestlers don't look good or do those freakin moves that destroy their bodies then no one would watch ( i know I'm probably one of the ones who would'nt)

and these guys need that stuff just to keep up

I was fortunate, or unfortunate, enough to see some of it up-close. I was good friends with a local wrestling promoter who was actually quite successful back in the mid 90's. His promotion was on MTV for a little while and was used by the WWE for guys coming back form injury. It was kind of like their minor leagues. Because of my association, I got to go to shows and backstage and other cool stuff.

I didn't have access to locker rooms or stuff like that, but seeing these guys hopped up on speed, roids and whatever else they had available was an eye-opening experience. Some of them were really cool, but you could tell the ones who were "on something".

I'm glad to say that my favorite wrestler of all time, Ricky Steamboat, was likely never on anything and will live a long, fruitful life.

For some reason, I can't stomach watching anymore. I either grew up or grew apart from the business. Let's see how long it takes till the next one...

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I'm pretty sure Ricky was one of the ones linked to roids in the late 80's
