There are a few local places that have good pizza, but for the most part I make my own. I only make one size, 13-ish by 8-ish football shaped pizza, 'cause I'm not so good with the dough. Ground beef, three cheeses, fresh jalapeno, fresh grated garlic, banana peppers, homemade roasted tomatillo/tomato/garlic/cubanelle pepper sauce; all for about $5.

That was one of the first places I went when I was up there last summer. In fact I went 3 times while I was there!
I think I got "one of everything", haha
I remember when they first started out and they had these cheesy, low-budget, late-night commercials. I think their first location was near the mental hospital on Elmwood & Forest?
I used to go there on the way home from the comic shop (Fantasy World) every Friday and get a Mighty Pack, hard shells with extra hot sauce and a Cherry Coke.
      MMMMMMM!!!

Sorry, I had a feeling you might be missing that place. Everytime I made toy, comic, or CD runs to Buffalo I always made sure to stop at Mighty (I wish we had them in Canada!). Now that I work in the Buffalo area, I stop for lunch at the one near me probably more often than I should. They still have those cheesy TV commercials. And that hot sauce, mmmm, I wish they could just sell me a bottle of that.

Sorry Hector, I'm sure that the real authentic Mexican stuff is a hundred times better, but I'm up here in Canada, so that ain't happening. If it's any consolation, Mighty Taco is way way better than the crap at Taco Bell.

Papa Johns has always been 14" for a large. My wife has been a manager for them for a long time. The new york style mom and pop places are between 16" and 18".

Here in NE Ohio we have a large variety of types, sizes and prices.

Some of the bars around here make some killer pizza. But they are small and expensive. But soooooo worth it when I can buy for just me, but would totally kill the budget to buy for the whole family.

We have 2 places here in town that do sheet pizzas. Both are pretty good and right around $15 delivered with one topping.
One of them also features an 18" round pizza for about the same price if I remember correctly. Used to eat a lot of those way back when I was a teen as quantity was definitely one of the high priorities.

Mostly we order from Dominoes though. As it's the best deal as far as quantity and price, and it really isn't that bad. We get the 3 for $5.55 each.
Would kill to have a Little Ceasars anywhere near by. Better pizza and lower price.

I've tried Papa John's and don't see what the big deal is.
For the price, I would take Pizza Hut over it any day.

One of the better places around here has a really good pizza (with lots of cheese) for about $15 for a 16" pizza. But they don't deliver, and we don't get out that way very often.

Pizza is one of the main food groups in this area.
We live in a city of about 12,000 and I think I can easily name about 2 dozen pizza places in a 15 mile radius. With only the one chain (Dominoes)

That reminds me of the shawarma (similar to gyros) I loved to eat when I was in the Mid-East. Looks good!

Do you know there are actual Taco Bells in Mexico?

I would certainly try Mighty Taco if there was one here in the West Coast.

I got this local Mexican place by me.
Mexican's own it and for the most part none of them even speak English ..
The young daughter (who speaks good) runs everything in "the front".
Really good food but I noticed something unusal.
Their taco's are all made with small strips of steak rather than ground hamburger.
                    Is that "authentic" ?
                    Or it doesn't matter ?

I actually like ground hamburger better in a taco.

I'm not sure what's authentic and what's not, but now I'm hungry for both Pizza and Taco's.

Did you watch Man vs Food where the host goes to San Jose California?

He attempts a breakfast burrito that's 17 inches long, thick as hell, and weighs almost six pounds. He has one hour to eat the massive burrito. He stops after a couple of bites because he has to do some other challenge...so in steps San Jose's own Joey Chestnut...the number one competitive eater in the world.

I couldn't believe my eyes, Chestnut devoured the gigantic burrito in three minutes....YES...THREE MINUTES!!!

                        Unfrigginunbelievable!!!

Yeah, your right. I live in Calgary. Thanks to the oil boom and massive population surge of the last decade, everythings starting to get priced into the stratusphere! I've actually started driving to a small town, only 15 minutes out, to buy my groceries because everythings on average about 20% cheaper!!!

Lebanese/Arab immigrants brought that to Mexico in the 19th century.

Mexico has a lot of people of Lebanese/Arab decent (a little over one million)...I for one have some Lebanese lineage.

Arab Mexican - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The third richest man in the world is Carlos Slim Helu, is a Mexican of Lebanese ancestry.

One of Mexico's most famous comics, Capulina, is also part Lebanese...as well as Salma Hayek...and so on.

As far as el pastor is concerned...the only difference from Shawarma...is that instead of lamb/goat...el pastor is pork.
