      Hmmmm....

I like 'em a lot. Funny thing, I'm playing "ELO Part Two" right now.

The first time I heard them was way back in the day, when I saw the Daicon 4 intro.

Back in the day, I used to like ELO a lot but never knew who they were until Don't Bring Me Down.

After their smash DBMD, I started noticing all these songs I liked were all by the same group

Not to step on your phallus there. As much as I admire Jeff Lynne, I would have to strongly disagree.
We are talking about Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, George Harrison and Bob Dylan also that were among that bunch.

          The best one?
It would be a toss between George Harrison and Roy Orbison.

Maybe they kept him around to carry luggage and guitars?

One of my favorites of all time!

I agree... "Time" is a great concept album and is a s cool as an old episode of the original Star Trek...

Jeff Lynne is a musical genius as far as arrangements go...imo.

It's hard to imagine Queen is such a giant on everyones favs lists, but ELO isn't.

Musically, ELO is Queen without the fluff

I'd always loved ELO, as well! To a large degree, I can thank my parents for it. I vividly remember my parents having ELO albums in the living room. The UFO covers, the Wicked Witch grabbing for Dorothy's ankles, etc.

I seem to have a lot of ELO's music going through my head on a regular basis.

Jeff Lynne is really great. I also love him because he was such a good friend of and to George Harrison (who I also love).

Jeff Lynne and George Harrison formed the Traveling Wilburys. And they've got all of it on film.

Never thought of it like that.... I think ELO was too mellow for later audiences, and that's why they aren't considered more imoprtant. Queen adapted to the guitar heavy later 80's, whereas ELO kept a sound that most would consider 70's, and old, and therefore irrelevant. (Since it's always about the next big thing.)
