"Shell Oil, Now Burn Less For More?"

I was just at the Shell gas station and notice their gas is now "nitrogen enhanced"!!!!!

First of all, nitrogen is an inert gas, it will not burn nor will it bond with anything else.

It is the most abundant gas in our air (78&#37, so you are paying for something that is already there, unless they are removing some oxygen to make it nitrogen rich, thus taking away one of the three things need for fire (oxygen, fuel, and heat).

This reminds me of when I was at a tire store and I saw a sign that said, "We now fill your tires with nitrogen!"

I asked them what good was that, and their answer was:

"It is drier than air so it wears down the tires on the inside slower plus it is a larger molecule than air, so if a small leak occurs, it will leak slower!"
