    help with AFA

i have around 10 moc action figures that i want to send to the afa for grading

trouble is ive looked on there site and its done my head in with garbage talk... i just want a clear idea of what it is i have to do to get my toys graded

some pointers im unclear about as it says about value... do i put a value of the figure as it is or as it will be after grading ? as the charge differs

posting, i live in the uk, it says to box the toys on there back... hahaha if it has to go through the royal mail it wont make a blind bit of difference as they play football with some of my items and what difference will it make how i lay the toys in the box,,, they will more than likely be damaged before they get there lol (joke) hope so.

    bit confusing

has anyone sent toys and used the afa grading system?

i could do with some pointers on how and what it is i have to do

    much appriciated

        Keep asking bro

I like AFA graded items, the cases more then protect the figures and the value goes up,can't beat that

Never understood the need for grading figures. And it's even worse for comics. Once it's sealed you can't read it anymore, what's the point?

the reason ill be sending mine to the afa is to preserve them, keep them from any harm
my find of a few moc 1986 figures in factory fresh condition keeps me up at night worried they might come to some harm.

afa is to grade the figure and it will keep it well and safe in the acrylic case, it will also imporve its value in the long run and that is also a factor lol

to be honest with you though the main reason is to preserve the untouched by hand mint uncirculated condition

i have others not so good, so yeah afa is not all and end all for me either as im only going to afa a few

if it's a good piece and in great condition it's worth it

Then why not just get a couple of acrylic cases and seal them up yourself

Yeah, I hate the finality of sealing them in there forever. I guess I'd consider it if I had some high grade SW pieces to sell, just because so many higher rollers kind of demand AFA but personally I don't get it.

Yeah, the only time I'd consider AFA grading is if I came across some nice SW pieces. If I wanted to sell them, the serious SW collectors pay much more for graded ones, so I suppose that grading would be a good return on investment.

I'm glad that our hobby has for the most part resisted, and often ridiculed, all this AFA nonsense so far.
