I've chilled a bit, well since buying my home.I've been putting most of the money into that instead of toys.

I promised my wife I would'nt buy anything unless it was a deal to good to let go

401K and home value is down but I'm doing better now than I have ever done before in my life. I stick to my budget and live on less than what I make.

I mainly stick to bidding on hidden auctions to keep me entertained. I've lost all the high end auctions I've participated in lately. I'm treating myself to some cool boxed Japanese figures as a graduation present for myself though.

I have tried to stop acquiring.
            So far, that's been working.

There were just a couple deals that I couldn't pass. It's hard to not to do that when it comes around.

My oldest is starting college in September and like everyone else have taken a beating as far as the market goes, so I guess you can say I have ben trying to be a tad more selective as far as my mego purchases go. But there are some items on my want list that if made available I would still buy.

I've slowed down, but mostly due to a baby being on the way, not because of my financial situation, which is actually a bit better than before due to the Canadian dollar losing ground to the US dollar recently. But if I see some good deals on some stuff I want due to any price drops caused by a bad economy, I'll jump on them.

I've been fortunate so far and haven't been financially affected by the economic turndown. Me and the wife do have a condo we've been trying to sell...for YEARS... so that has sucked. But it's cost to maintain has been low so the money drain is minimal. One day though it will happen...I have a dream. My office is at home so, unfortunately, I get occassionally sucked into Ebay to wander a bit. I've been doing alot of "investing" in Hot Toys figures and have gotten some deals, but oddly I haven't seen the kind of deals I thought I would in this economic downturn. I'm sure those deals are out there, but it's probably stuff I already have that I'm not actively looking for.

I never spend over my limit. My retirement fund has taken a beating, but I have 30-35 years to make it up (hopefully).

Not to the point of having to sell anything yet but have stopped going on ebay because it's too tempting. Things were so-so and not that bad until recently. I work in the auto industry and the bottom has practically fallen out when it comes to people buying stuff. Getting a little scary but trying to be optimistic. So far, so good.

I count my blessings that our household income is the highest it has ever been.

With that said, we are taking some precautionary steps. For Ebay, I will only buy something I really, really want with no impulsive buys. I do have quite a few things I need to sell but I'm willing to wait it out for a while until I can get fair value for it.

Personally, we are stockpiling cash for my oldest son's college (even though it's still 4 years away and not placing it in the market). I have a decent size bonus coming to me this month and assuming I don't have a huge tax bill from 2008 (still haven't started my taxes), we are thinking about jumping into the stock market big time while blood is in the streets.

Impulse buying on eBay.. That's what I have to watch out for.. I still buy odds and ends of nice items I really don't need, but it can really 'nickel-and-dime' your savings down.

The cool thing for me last year was to be banned from eBay for a month due to changing my bid amounts, which was excellent since I racked up about $400 in PayPal income. Allowed me to finally invest in a loose Kid Flash here and a few other high-dollar items..

I am doing better this year actually,I will be growing my collection rather than selling off any.
First I really need to finish of my customs and get organized.
Then decide what I really need to get.
