Lord Vader?

I'm sure this has been mentioned before & I doubt I'm the first person to notice this, but why does the Legion Of Doom's HQ from the classic Superfriends show look like some kind of poorly drawn, noseless Darth Vader? Was it intentional on the part of the animators? Seriously. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear your input. Any theories?

Wikipedia says Challenge Of The Superfriends ran from September 9, 1978 to September 15, 1979. So they could have been inspired by Vader. Maybe they figured Vader's look was a good symbol of evil? Plus, their HQ has this "face" on more than one side. I know the "eyes" are windows.

I was just watching this last night and remembering that it always annoyed me as a kid. I also wondered why the Superfriends just never found the location and "took it out."

My son is big into Superfriends right now so it bugs me more now than it used to since I see it all the time. In a way it's cool since Vader is cool, but it still kind of annoys me.

Why did the always hide in a swamp? I guess "Supervillian" doen't equal smart. But then again, there's Luthor and Brainiac. I just can't figure it out......

I've heard it brought up before. I myself always thought it was suppose to be more skull shaped. As to why it's in the swamp,maybe that was Grundy's idea?
