I asked the same thing. The Double cheeseburger is $1.19 so you are essentially paying an extra $.19 for an extra slice of cheese.

Filet-O-Fish is being promoted heavily because it is Lent which is still practiced by many Catholics (I am one). We abstain from eating meat on Fridays (Fish isn't considered meat). Some hardcore Catholics abstain from meat during the entire course of Lent so places like McDonalds starts promoting their Filet-o-fish this time of year.

I love those little sammiches. I don't know what it is, and I would never put cheese on a fish or glob four tablespoons of tartar sauce on it either but damn if they aren't tasty. Twice a year I'll nibble on the forbidden fish.

The commercial with the girls gathering around the two guys on the park bench is hilarious. I still haven't gotten sick of it yet.
These are nothing new though. BK had Burger Bundles about 20 years ago.
