Anybody else here ever been to Devils Tower ?

I went to Devils Tower Wyoming back in 2000.

It was really neat to see it in person.

It seems anyone I ever talked to knows what Devils Tower is because of TV shows and movies, but nobody has ever been there.

Anyone else here ever see it in person ?

Went last May. Walked around it. The government has hidden the landing strip VERY well.

I first saw it in 94'. As is fitting to the monument, it was a magnificent day, then quite suddenly one wicked storm blew in, and I ended up sitting in my truck for almost two hours waiting for it to end. It was raining so hard I couldnt see out past the windows of the truck. It actually felt like I was under water...eery. When the rain stopped I high tailed it out of there towards Cheyenne....until a tornado warning came up on the radio. Turned back North and headed it home instead!
I saw it again in 2007 with no bad weather or other freaky happenings to speak of.
Odd thing.....looks like somebody pushed it up from underneath the ground.---- As Hulk said no landing strips, and no mashed potato shrines!! (too bad!).
