TV Guide's 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time

Ok, THANK GOD Bugs Bunny is number one as he should be, but I have a problem with MANY on that list, some are ranked too high while others are ranked too low, and some don't belong there at all, and some great characters are missing as well.

    34. Bill

    35. Space Ghost

Surprised Gerald McBoing Boing made the list. Glad to see Homer J. getting such a high ranking. Who the heck is Bill?

That list is a couple of years old....is Bill "Just A Bill" from Schoolhouse Rock maybe? I'd have to dig out that issue to double check.

Yeah that list is from Aug. 3-9, 2002 and yes it is Bill from Schoolhouse Rock.
Big fan of SHR but I don't see how a one-shot cartoon makes the grade of top 50 of all time.

Yah know looking at that list again it's already dated with Pikachu and Arthur...obviously more popular at the time but I highly doubt they'll stand the test of time like a Bugs Bunny or a Fred Flintstone.

OK, I don't know who Gerald McBoingBoing is.

And there are quite a few that shouldn't have made that list. Angelica Pickles? Oh brother!

This one is just fodder for argument.

I thught Bill might be Mr. Bill, but I think that's a fine way to some up SHR. And, although I do think Bill is the one episode that immediately comes to mind for many, I would agree that no single character stands out enough to make this list.

I actually think Gerald McBoing Boing would make my top 100, but his cultural impact is long since felt.

I hate the ___ and ____ entries. Can't Rocky, Bullwinkle, Bart Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Wyle E. Coyote, Road Runner, et al., stand on their own?

                      I would remove:

                      15. Pikachu
                      26. Arthur
                      27. Winnie the Pooh (I consider him more of a movie cartoon than a TV one)34. Bill
                      41. Daria
                      42. Wonder Woman (from the Superfriends? C'mon!)
                      43. Donald Duck (again, like Pooh, movie, not TV)
                      48. Bobby Hill

And I think Courageous Cat should be on there somewhere...

Hank Hill did not make the list, Also Bender from futurama would have been a good top 50

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

Well, they've got another one-shot cartoon at #5. The Grinch? Yeah,I like the cartoon but not enough to rank him that high. And Gumby? Sorry, don't think of him as a cartoon character. Scrooge McDuck from Duck Tales would have come in somewheres on my list.
