    dishwasher dilema

any plumbers or dishwaher experts on here ?

ig my self in a state here, my dishwasher is blocked and i cant seem to clear it

i managed to jug the water out after flooding the kitchen floor when i opened the ddor to find it half full of water and out it came

and this is what im left with at the bottom, ive checked the filter and cleaned that out, and ive checked the out flow pipe for blocks and its clear, some guy said to me it could be the pump that pumps it oput but i can hear the pump trying work and it is obviously designed to stop as i can hear it trying to pump the water out

ive jugged out the water since taking this pic and recleaned the filter and began to strip it down from inside but there is no block

i put in a finnish dish washer cleaner product and it has still failed to clear, im left with 2 inches of water inside

    any tips or help
    ?

either the pump is clogged or broken. The drain line to your sink or disposal may be plugged with grease build up.
Too many toys. Not enough space!

If you have a garbage disposal, I would start there.

When ever my dishwasher gets clogged up, I usually get her Ammodium AD or Mucinex (depends on what end is clogged). My wife usually bounces right back, and finishes the dishes she has left!!!!

I showed this to my "dishwasher", she didn't think it was as funny as I did. So guess what I'll be doin' after dinner!!

A funny story my best friend's Mom told me when I was a kid:
Well they weren't exactly rolling in dough. She kept telling her husband she wanted a dishwasher. Kept asking and asking. Well one day (can't recall if it was her birthday or Christmas or anniversary or just a normal day) he comes home with this huge box marked dishwasher. She was all excited, "I'm finally getting a dishwasher!". She opens it up and it's a pack of dishrags inside the dishwasher box. She wasn't amused.
She was a widow when I was friends with her son so I don't know how long before he died that story takes place but she never did get a dishwasher. BTW, I remember a wringer-washer machine on her back enclosed porch so if that gives you an idea of how modern her house was.

Make a habit of removing ALL the leftovers outta the plates before placing them in the dishwasher...it will never clog again....and always start the hot water on your faucet before activating the dishwasher.

I had this exact same problem recently with mine. The issue wasn't with the filter, the drain, or the hose (all of which I checked). It actually was where the drain and filter connected to the hose. I disconnected the hose and got out some needle-nose pliers. I was able to pull a ton of "gunk" out from that connection. I'm not sure what it was, but it was pink, stringy, and absolutely disgusting. 15 minutes of pulling stuff out and it was good to go again.

A few good ideas here. I was also going to say possibly the pump.

I know I had a problem with a sump pump a few years back. It seemed to be running but my basement kept flooding. I pulled the pump out and realized it was humming like it was working but not actually pumping the water out.
