    Jerk Encounter!

Driving to work this morning i got stuck behind this guy driving 40 mph in a 55 mph zone. I was behind him for several miles, then we had to slow down to 35 mph to go through a small town,he slows down to 25.I wasn't riding this guys bumper,i kept a good 3 to 4 car lengths between us.After the small town i had to turn left and i was really hoping this guy went straight, but of course he was also turning left. He was again doin 40 in a 55 zone.Had a small stretch of a half mile, then needed to take a right.I had a clear view of the road that i was getting ready to turn on and could see that there was no cars coming. So i had already decided that if he turned also, that i was passing him.Of course he turned right and proceeded to dog along at 40 again.I pass the guy and look down at my speedometer,im doing 65,thinking this guy is now a couple hundred feet behind me now, i glance over my shoulder to see if i can get over and he's right on my bumper and starting to move up and prevent me from getting over.Suddenly a guy who couldn't seem to exceed 40 is now doin 70 and attempting to repass me.WHAT DO YOU DO? Looking at the road ahead and still no oncoming traffic coming,i give my truck some more gas.I am now doing 80 and he is right at my back tire, more gas doin 90 now and he's about 6 feet off my bumper,i do give him the courtesy of a turn signal to let him know that I'AM getting over in the right lane.I move into the right lane and he reduces his speed.I look in the rearview,he's now several hundred feet behind me and i have started slowing down.A few seconds and i back down to the speed limit. He turned right and went to where ever he was goin and i continued on to where i was going.Pretty stupid I guess but.......... Sorry for the book but that crap PI**ED me off and i needed to vent!

Some people get stupid when they get in a car. Not sure what it is with that. Sure, he has the right to go slower, unless there is a minimum speed posted, but it's just plain ignorant for someone to get mad because someone else would actually like to get where they are going TODAY.

Oh,he got some words, unfortunately i don't think he could hear them and it was still dark so i dont think he could read my lips either. I know what his truck looks like,we travel the same road in the morning,i'm sure i will get the chance to give him a proper greeting someday.

It's funny...I sometimes get aggressive while driving my truck...because I know I can pummel most toy cars, lol.

But when I drive my Mustang...I'm a saint...I don't want ANY close calls with my ride...I'll always super duper nice, lol.

That kind of behaviour drives me crazy too. I had two in a row on the road today...it's amazing how they always speed up when there is an overtaking lane sigh.

I have to admit that when I was a lot younger I would sometimes give cars with drivers like that a good kick with my motorcycle boot as I went past. Thankfully I am a lot calmer these days.

I saw this in a 70s movie, "The Car", with James Brolin.
Turned out, that car was demonically possessed.

So in a way, you were lucky....

That sounds like your typical Mr Wheeler.

                      Also sounds like this guy.

If he does that in Oakland...he'd be shot for sure.
