That just doesn't make sense. I would try to contact the Safeway corporate office. I am at a point now where I dont like any grocery stores. It seems like no matter which store I go to there is a problem. Items out of stock, wrong prices, bad service...etc.

That's ridiculous. If it is really worth your while, I would escalate it.

I have seen brick and mortar stores like Target not match their online prices which I think is bad enough. They say it's because they don't manage their websites. To me, they are one and the same entity and should honor any deal in store that they have on line.

I have a Super-Walmart by me, but it doesn't seem to be effecting the other grocery stores.

Besides the Super-Walmart, we also have A&P, Shop-Rite and Weis in the same semi-small town.

For the most part, A&P, Shop-Rite and Weis are all usually crowed with people.

Most people around here are AFRAID to buy food at Walmart -- especially meat.

We've got Giant Eagle ,Sparkle ,Aldi ,and Super Walmart.Aldi's is always busy, cheap prices but not alot of name brands.Doesn't bother us though.Sparkle has got kinda crappy lately.Giant Eagle a chain based out of Pittsburgh I think, there good only when you got coupons, they double them. And Walmart is,well just Walmart.

We have Bruno's (which just filed for Chapter 11), Food World, Winn Dixie and there are still some Piggly Wiggly's scattered around the area. If I ever go into any of them it's usually for something quick like milk or hot dog buns, so I never have a coupon. I think most people here go to Wal*mart and Publix.

It's funny how different regions of the country have pretty popular chains but they don't exist in other states.

There aren't any Publix or Piggly Wiggly's in Maryland (at least that I know of). The big grocery store here is Giant Food (not Giant Eagle but we have that too). Safeway and Weis is also big here and yes Wal*Mart. It was only a couple of years ago that they expanded it to a "Super Wal*Mart" complete with food.

We generally purchase most of our food items from Costco, followed by Walmart, and odds and ends from Safeway since it is the closest to our house but they by far charge the highest prices.

Pretty much have a little of everything in area (north jersey). Shop Rite, A&P, Stop & Shop, King's, and Pathmark although only one each of the latter that I'm aware of. First Target in the immediate vicinity (what i would call a 20 minute drive) just opened up. Still no Wal-mart nearest one is 40 minutes away.

Didn't Pathmark and A&P merge or something?
