The Alamo fascinates me so I have done a lot of research on it. The fact that 187 men tied up 3,000 mexican soldiers long enough for Texas to become a republic I find pretty cool. Santa Anna has to be one of the worst world leaders ever. I felt bad for the common Mexican soldier when I read how he treated them. When he was told he would lose a lot of men in an assault he said "so we lose some chickens, they are expendable". Not what a leader should say.

I got kicked off the Alamo property last time I was in San Antonio. We were videotaping a segment for a show and didn't have permission to tape outside the Alamo from "The Sisters". We were told to leave.
We just went across the street and shot the segment, still using the Alamo as a backdrop and since we were no longer on the property, they couldn't do anything about it.
Sorry, went OT there, but it was Alamo related, and how many of you can say you were kicked out of the Alamo?
