    Poor Denny Laine

Some of you were asking about Denny Laine awhile ago when the subject of Paul McCartney and the Wings came up.

I found out what he is doing. I feel sorry for this guy. He really had it big and then Paul McCartney just cut him loose when he got sick of him.

Denny is playing small clubs and bars no bigger then my bedroom but he is still making music with his new band as well as appearances at Beatle festivals.

Denny has to eat I suppose.

I read an authorized book that someone wrote about McCartney claiming that McCartney made him sleep in the barn with the sheep when he stayed on his farm. I don't know how true that is. I have had to sleep in some odd places for a gig but man...that is tough!

Don't feel too bad for him.

He was an integral part in an integral band for years.

Some never get even THAT successful.

No kidding. I could only dream of being on that level.

As far as I know, McCartney disolved Wings because ....

McCartney originally had Laine as a semi partner on some of Wing's songs -- giving Laine a pretty good chunk of change and say in the band.
Laine remained rather quiet and happy with the deal.

McCartney then started to get gready for the whole pot and decided to end Wings .... Thus booting Laine as well.

McCartney ll was technically Wings last album.

McCartney is my least favorite Beatle and this is why. He was recording music and slapping "THE WINGS" on it toward the end. The band members changed faster then Paul changed his boxers.
What McCartney was and is....is a way different today.

Didn't Laine complain about Paul having his wife in the band and wanting her out.

Paul, left with a choice between his wife and Laine, had no choice.

Oh yes sir! Denny did but heads with Linda. She flubbed up a lot of music live in the beginning and he did complain about her. Yep!
Eventually sir Paul brought in an "off stage" keyboard player and turned her keyboard down a notch according to Denny.

Toward the end, Paul quit touring because of John getting shot and this drove Denny nuts. He kept picking at Paul to "get back out there"

Eventually Paul just dropped "The Wings" and left Denny in the dust.

Denny should have just kept his mouth shut.

Right there with you ... and, after reading that other thread, I'll add
it's probably good for him Denny didn't go into professional wrestling
