LATE NIGHT FRIDAY 1970s TRIVIA CONTEST- STARSKY & HUTCH SPECIAL!

LATE NIGHT FRIDAY 1970s TRIVIA CONTEST-
    STARSKY & HUTCH SPECIAL!

Yes, that's right, tonight's trivia contest is devoted solely to that classic buddy cop show, Starsky & Hutch! (Or, as they were NEVER known as, Dave & Ken!).

Here with a really cool acid jazz version of the show's theme song by the James Taylor Quartet (and no, it's a different JT):

YouTube - Starsky and Hutch - Taylor Quartet

    Most excellent!
So, now on to the trivia contest! For any newcomers, here's da rest o' da rulz:

I'll post five (5) trivia questions related to 1970s ERA various MEGO figures or characters...not closely related, as you'll see, the paths from Mego to question can diverge greatly!

First person to answer all of them correctly will get a little prize package of some random 1970s things like paperback books, comics, magazines, etc...random Mego Museum cards, and whatever assorted 1970s oddball goodies I come across.
Now don't get too excited...you're not gonna get anything worth a million bucks. Actually, the junk I plan to unload on the "winner"...excuse me, I mean, the fine collectible items I plan to offer as prizes will entertain you (I hope), and we'll all have a good time.

And just maybe, if you're not too careful, you just might learn something. Or not.

As far as the answers, please try to keep them all together in one post so we don't have to jump around collecting them all-someone can beat you to the punch by doing just that, so again, all 5 in the same post. If you get one or two wrong, please correct yourself again with all five just to keep things coherant for everyone involved, thanks!

And since I don't have any anti-Googling software in place I can't stop you from internet searching. If you know all this stuff without searching, why aren't you on Jeopardy playing for real money?

Oh, and please remember that all answers are subject to the final decision of the judge, which be me, so no arguing, it's all for fun, so let's not get crazy!

So without further ado, in the words of the Immortal Navin Johnson, "Step right up and win some crap!"

#1: Everybody who ever watched the show knows that famous "Striped Tomato" Ford Torino was Starsky's pride & joy...my question is: WHAT KIND OF CAR DID HUTCH OWN?

#2: The car was so popular that it was practically a member of the cast. In fact, it actually guest-starred on another TV series during the show's final season. My question is: ON WHAT OTHER TV SERIES DID THAT CAR APPEAR?

#3: During the seventies, the CB radio was big. Everybody had a "handle". There was the Rubber Duck, there was the Bandit & the Snowman...Starsky & Hutch didn't use a CB, but they did have a "handle" that the dispatcher used to call them. My question is: WHAT WAS THEIR DESIGNATION?

#4: Antonio Fargas played Huggy Bear, the streetwise pimp/con man/informant/friend of the team. Huggy remains one of the most popular TV characters of all time. My question is: WHAT WAS HUGGY BEAR'S LAST NAME?

#5: Time to play connect the dots with Starsky & Hutch: WHAT CONNECTION DOES DAVID SOUL (HUTCH) HAVE IN COMMON WITH ACTORS RON HARPER & LEONARD NIMOY?

Ok, there you have it. Remember, all five answers in one post to win the prize...and go!

I guess not since I just came online.
Of course you could put a "can't win two weeks in a row" clause.
            No offense to Toyroom.

me neither. I wasn't keeping track though. I usually am busy Fridays and forget about it and I actually thought I was early this week but find out it was already over before I got on.
Hey johnny, I know you're getting up there and all but late night isn't 9pm.
Then again, I have no idea where you live.
                Rich
Actually I had no clue on over 1/2 of the questions this week anyway so the point is moot (and maybe that's why nobody else played? LOL)

It sure as heck is...after eating dinner at the 4:30 buffet and an hour of Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy, it's all I can do to prop my walker up near the computer, adjust my snugglie, and type the trivia question! By 9:30 I'm ready to clap off the lights and hit the hay! You kids can stay up all night playing your Ataris and messaging on your walkie-talkie phones- I'll be drinking my warm milk martini and going to bed like normal people should!

No seriously, I'm in Pennsylvania so I posted that last night around Midnight.
I've had a number of people ask about the day & time, so next week I'll be changing it to Saturday night, and it will be posted around the same time, midnight here, 9:00 for you I guess. I'm also going to continue with the one subject-five question routine which I kinda liked.

                      How about this:
Starting in March, we'll go to Once a month winners..I'll post an ongoing monthly winner list each month for everyone.

I'm glad you have a good sense of humor. Some people get offended so easily. That was hilarious.
Hope it didn't sound like sour grapes on my part? I was just trying to make some suggestions to make it easier for more people to get involved and want to play.

We don't do daylight savings time here so sometimes we are 2 hours behind (mountain time) and other times we are on Pacific time (3 hours behind). Don't get me started on how stupid DST is!! It should be abolished.

No offense taken. I know some folks can get ticked off really quick, but hey, it's all fun right? Why have a coronary? Life is too hard these days to go crazy about somebody's opinion, or their avatar, or whether they like classic Aquaman or new Captain America. And besides, I AM an old fart- just ask my wife!

I really had zoned out on the fact that Late Night to me was Eastern Time and to another part of the country it was time for dinner. So I'll be making the move to Saturday next week, and it will be around the same time. I want to get more people involved, get some interaction at least discussing the topics then afterword, and have some fun. I'm enjoying doing this, really am.
