Went To See "Rain" Beatles Tribute Band

They were here in my area about a week or so ago but I didn't make it to the show. Now I regret missing them after hearing your review.

I saw a tribute band called Beatlemania in the 70's that did about the same thing. Now I'll have to check out this group if they come.

I seen Beatlemania on Broadway in 1979 on my eigth grade class trip at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
Their tagline was -- "Not the Beatles - An Incredible Simulation"
One thing I didn't like about them, the stage was covered with a clear cloth for 75% of the show (so projections can be pasted over them while they were performing).
      It was really annoying.

I seen Rain a few times at Beatlefest NYC in Secaucus.
I liked Rain a lot better then Beatlemania.
      Rain has been around forever

Rain is considered the best Beatles tribute band. If I'm not mistaken they were the band that was used in the movie Birth of the Beatles. I saw a really good tribute band called Beatlemania Now. the guy who played John looked a lot like him.

American English was probably the best band I have ever seen until their John Lennon (Kevin Montaga?) and George Harrison (Marty something...) left the group. When I saw the American English show it was amazing. I have not seen the new John and George. From what I understand they are still playing with new players.

I do but I would have to transfer it from VHS to DVD. About an hour or two project. Need it ?

Was Birth of the Beatles the one where they said "to the top" ten thousand times ?

If so, that line really got on my nerves.

Yes it was. It stank, but the guy who played John looked very similar.

The 'Faux Four' group does do 'Tomorrow Never Knows', saw them do 'Walrus' on Letterman scarily accurate. Bigger production, but very attentive to detail.

I don't think rain has played out my way - New York. I sw the orignal cat of Beatlemania a couple years ago at the Westchester dinner theater. they were really good, still wear the costumes from each era and had the whole act going. It was a lot of fun. I don't usually go for tribute bands but since the Beatles will never be together again I gues this is the next best thing. I have seen the band they have at Epcot several times as well. they are pretty good for a Disney act....I think they are called British invasion or something like that

Here is the Original cut of the movie. The American cut was different.

Ok John. You are lucky that I am studying video engineering for my job/hobby.

                            I did it!
I got the VHS footage into the computer (cleaned it up the best I can) It looks a little grainy from the transformation but very watchable.
I broke it down into ten chapters for you to enjoy on DVD.

So.....send me your address. I am burning it right now. Members of this board that are true Beatle fans, get them free. No charge. LOL

Anyone else want a copy. PM me while I am burning them.

                              A bit off topic...

I was just going through my old Beatles stuff and found my Beatlefest '80 program.
It was the last Beatlesfest held when all four Beatles were still living.

Anyway, the performing group was Liverpool.
I never hear about them anymore.
They used to be a very popular Beatles sound-a-like band in the late 70's through the 80's.
