Wow.. I came upon this thread and didn't think much about the songs I didn't like, but the other list including 'Ask Me Why', 'Mr. Moonlight' and 'Eight Days a Week' sure pointed out some weak or bad tracks alright.

    My picks..?

Hey Jude: Lovely song twice, maybe three times hearing it, I enjoy the Youtube rehearsal videos of it (with George Harrison in with George Martin, with not much to do..), but after hearing Macca play it EVERY-STINKIN-CONCERT for a while drives me nuts.., I just fast forward it.

Wild Honey Pie: Yes, I would have chucked it, PURE, NOT-EVEN-INTERESTING FILLER. Sorry, same for Ringo's 'Don't Pass Me By'.

Helter Skelter..? I never liked it as a kid, but I started liking it more now as being interesting.. Marginally liking it more.

I don't hate it, its just not one of my favorite Beatles songs. Honey Pie has a George Formby sensibility about, a sort of banjo riff underpins this song. it is a little on the silly side but I guess that was/is a tiny part of what Paul's songwriter style is about.

Revolution No 9 is unlistenable as a song, but put in the context of Sound Art, it was probably ahead of its time.

    Clem...

While I don't think either of these is a "bad" song per se, I never really cared much for "Baby You're A Rich Man" or "Hey Bulldog". Something about those songs always irked me, and I can't honestly even clearly explain why.

I think "Revolution #9" and "Wild Honey Pie" definitely are at the top of the "Worst" list for me.

I came to Paul's defense by citing Sgt. pepper's and its reprise as rockin' Paul songs, but honestly, I heatily dislike Let it Be, Winding Road and Hey Jude precisely because they do not rock and are rather dull IMO. Eleanor Rigby and She's Leaving Home suffer the same, for lack of a better term, "boringness".

However, I love Rocky Raccoon and Blackbird, so I can't discount Paul's awesomeness.

revolution #9 was John and Yoko at their worst. the rest of the band did not want it on the album but Lennon insisted.

All you need is Love is one of their best. Mike's crazy.

I think my least favorite is Back in the USSR.

Paul McCartney rules. His songs may often have simple lyrics but they all have great melody. How could you not like Long and Winding Road, Let it Be, Hey Jude? These are timeless classics.

Sgt. Pepper's and its reprise were Paul's, and those songs rocked!

Granted---after some thought---John DOES have more tunes with
cryptic lyrics than Paul's at that point---
