Anyone having issues with the new ads on ebay.

I've been noticing an issue with the new ads on ebay and Flash v10. It loads very slow, almost stopping my computer, and wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. I don't notice it anywhere else just on ebay and only on the pages with the movie type ads.

They're built on the Tumri platform which is a click through platform like Google's adsense. Basically ebay must be looking for additional revenue. Unfortunately it has affected my day to day laptop which is a basic low end one so much I don't go on as often. Which will result in me bidding on fewer items. If others are affected in a similar way it will probably result in less revenue from their number one source. Who woulda thunk that. ebay, lotsa technology, but not a lot of common sense.

Use Firefox and install a flash block add-on. Speeds things up like crazy - and is a tad more secure . . .

Ever since the "upgrade" last month, ebay has been running really slow for me too --- especially the My Ebay page (which usually takes over a minute to load or refresh)

I refuse to install Firefox just for ebay's sake.

ebay sucks and soon it will be gone anyway.

Ebay is agonizingly slow for me at work (using a so-so computer with Explorer). Luckily on my home computer (a much better computer, using Firefox), it's not bad at all.

Firefox might be a necessity then.

I've always heard people say Firefox is better than IE but since I have no clue where to get it (I assume it's free?) and not sure how to use it, I haven't bothered with it. PLus do you lose anything if you switch? I assume you somehow make one the default browser and still have IE installed in case you need it for something?

                    Yes the flash is ssssllllllooooowwww.
If you put your product in a flash ad I'm not going to buy it because you annoy me.

OK if you want IE to go faster you can un-install flash or you can do what I did I made a short cut to the macro media folder so I can jump to it easy. Than I changed the name of the flash folder so IE can't find it to load it. But if I want to watch somthing in flash I can jump back to the folder and change it back.

It might be a personal preference, but I've used Firefox for years (even before it was called Firefox) and vastly prefer it over IE. It's definitely free, and easy to use, and it's no problem to have both Firefox and IE installed on your computer. You can find it here:

We’re working to put control of the internet back in the hands of the people using it.

There are also many different add ons you can use with Firefox including the above mentioned flash block.
