    Cookin better with gas

Do you cook with gas or electric? We had gas at the old house and never thought about a differance. When we built this one we went electric for the stove and now regret it.It doesn't cook as even and takes longer,I guess it takes time to get used to something new. We've got gas ran to the furness,so I'm thinking I'll run a line to the kitchen eventually. But for me gas is king.

Gas is definitely king when it comes to cooking. You can control temperatures much better than with electric. I have electric but wish I had a gas stove.

If you already have gas service to your house it should be a quick fix, hopefully cheap too. Sadly, most houses in my area are electric only, the house I was working on yesterday was having a big ole propane tank dropped in.

Yeah, I do all of the cooking here and much prefer cooking with gas.

Electric all the way for me.

I hate the smell of gas (all houses with gas smell but if you live in it you're probably so used to it you don't notice) ........

          and don't trust gas.

            Gas by a MILE.

Before I remodeled our kitchen...we had an electric stove...it was horrid...it's hard to gauge the temperature, takes too long to heat up...you can't roast peppers or tortillas...I just hated it.

Gas rules, I love my new gas stove.

If you can smell the gas...you have a gas pipe leak.

Electric is a nightmare for the serious cook.

Is the gas to your furnace from an outside tank or public gas lines? Unfortunately, we don't have a public gas line out our way and a buried tank would have cost a fortune. Our only alternative would have been to run a line from our gas fireplace (external tank) to a gas stove but opted not to for now.

Maybe someday when we eventually have to replace our stove, we'll upgrade

I choose Electric. When I go home to vist my family I have to use Gas. I'm scared of the Pilot light going out and the house filling with gas. I'm used to cooking with electric but everyone I know prefers gas
