I expect many of the other names on that 100+ player list of positive tests in 2003 will be leaked. What's particularly shocking is that someone from the players' union allegedly tipped A-Rod off when he was going to be randomly tested in 2004.

More news of a different sort. I also read an article where Joe Torre is writing a book about his Yankee years and does not put him in a good light. Apparently, talks about some of the team calling him A-Fraud and that he delt with a Derek Jeter obsession. Doesn't seem like a good year to be Alex Rodriquez.
          It's all good!

Torre's just a jerk,he kissed his *** when he was there and now writes this crap.Have the balls and decency to say it to his face man to man, even Jeter didn't think it was right

Now about the roids,if you read ESPN today it says those were private tests and weren't suppose to be released,it wasn't wrong to do it at the time and there was no penalty for it.So if he did it who cares? so did all of baseball.I'm sure he hasn't done it since and I bet he's been tested 100's of times after that

He only admitted it because he saw the difference between what happened to Clemens and Bonds vs Petitte and Giambi. The world begs to forgive but will punish those that give them the opportunity to. If Clemens and Bonds hadn't been so arrogant they wouldn't be under the pile of crap they are now. If it hadn't been for that he would have denied it all the way.

I'm a Red Sox fan, so I'm not going to give him much benefit of the doubt, but for him to act all contrite and claim he only used from 2001-2003, then turn around and blame it all on the SI reporter that uncovered it just suggests to me that perhaps the only thing he's sorry about is that he got caught.

It doesn't matter,MLB signed papers that said these would be classified documents that no one would ever see and that they would never get in trouble for using it at the time.I' sure there will be atleast one Red Sox player named in the 112 players on the list, maybe even Manny Ramirez.I think he should sue the hell out of MLB for releasing those forms

the bigger question is - did he jeopardize his chances for cooperstown?

If he continues to test and comes clean and still puts up big numbers he will go in....maybe not as a first ballot hall of famer. I think Clemens,Bonds and Maguire will all eventually get in.

The Hall of Fame has Racist in it. Ty Cobb being one of the biggest. for me that's worse than taking steroids.

Now if these guys get in what about Pete Rose?

Pete should've been in a long time ago ,I don't care what they did off the field,it's what you did on the field taht should determine the BASEBALL hall of fame to me.It's not an honesty hall of fame,it's baseball.but that's just me

i agree, there's no reason that justifies why pete rose is not in the hall of fame.
