I'm curious.
Who's your favourite LOTR character, for example?
Or in SW? ST? The Alien saga?
I find it interesting why people bond with certain characters.
So tell me yours, and more importantly, why?
I hope it goes beyond "Darth Vader, because he's bad-***!"
I'm hoping for a little more.
This isn't a contest. No SW vs ST. Not one is "better"....
To kick this off:
my favourite character in LOTR is....Boromir.
What? That creep who betrayed them by wanting to take the Ring?
No, it's not that simple.
To me, Boromir is the perfect example of what it is to be human. Not black or white, but many shades of grey in between. He's no Superman, and no Darth Maul. His flaws, his weakness, his striving to do good for his people, make him so interesting. He's not a bad man, he struggles so hard, but does make wrong choices. He is a textbook example of "man". That gave the character depth. Most misunderstood his actions for "selfish" and "untrustworthy".
To me, that is not the case. I'm not a big fan of "perfect" characters. I need a little more "spice".
So here's to Boromir! Not such a bad guy after all....
