    Snowed in!

We just spent much of the last eight days snowed in, some of it without power or net access.

Here's a bit of what it did to our area:

I even managed to slip on the ice, fly up in the air, and land on the sidewalk on the back of my idea, knocking myself out for a good ten seconds. Whee!

I guess the good news is at least you're not missing work Joe.

I actually did miss work - in addition to my online shop, I'm a freelance writer and web designer - and I couldn't do much of anything without power or Net access.

This was very unusual for Arkansas, certainly by far the worst in the four years I've lived here!

And my neck still hurts from falling down. Ten years ago, I would have recovered in a day or two. I guess that's the difference between 30 and 40!

Very unusual indeed. The chilly weather here in Houston has given me one heck of a cold. Sorry Joe, I thought you just worked out of your house. I guess after all of this bad weather it would be good to get out.

We got SLAMMED by about 7-8 inches of snow and then up to 3 inches of ice on top of that. On last Monday about 3 inches of snow fell. Then on Tuesday more came in, and that was the 7 inches. Then it changed to freezing rain. My place of work actually closed last Wednesday after all the ice came. Thousands upon thousands of Kentuckians are STILL without power a week later. Trees were destroyed, and took out many power lines. Back and even many main roads (including the highway I live on) were impassable at one point or another. My family was extremely lucky. No real damage, and no loss of power other than a few minutes up in the AM on Wednesday.

Our local schools finally went back today, on a one hour delay. Many other counties here our all but decimated. Our governor is calling this the worst natural disaster in KY history.
