To put my own rebuttal in less explosive terms, his anger problems may not derive from his fame or his isolation from "the real world", at all. There are many people who have anger problems who are not famous and are firmly entrenched in the real world and all its attendant anxieties. Should poor people who have anger issues work as Hollywood actors for a while? Do you think that "reality check" would solve their issues? Why and how would switching jobs be a deterrent to the irrational expression of anger? It just defies logic.

I personally think people with anger management issues are basically spoiled brats that never learned how to live with other people because they grew up thinking they were the centre of everything.
They throw tantrums -- whether it's with their mouth or fists when they don't get their way

It might not be a politically correct thing to say, but that's how I feel.

I guess that if you give people the idea that they can ask for anything ("of course you can have 2,000 white roses in your dressing room. Delivered within the next ten minutes? Of course!"), that they get "delusions of grandeur".
It's a spiraling effect. This is the way Paris Hiltons are made.

When I'm rich and famous, I'll not be like that. I will rule benevolently. As it becomes one of Godly stature....

If you had attended two state-mandated anger management courses, as I have, you might not feel this way. Anger issues are a problem of the poor and powerless as well as the wealthy and powerful. Anger control issues are not the sole province of "spoiled brats", but also of impoverished persons and of the middle class, and are a multi-ethnic problem as well.

Bale may have anger issues that are a result of who he is in an inborn sense, not as a result of his "star" status.

When i'm rich and famous, i'm going to be totally impossible

First thing, i'll start bottling my farts and sell them at $25.00 a pop.

My truly devoted fan will be able to smell me anytime they want in the comfort of their own home.

            Hmmm,

            That's a pretty good idea .......

Hey, why wait until i'm famous to do that ?

I might just start right now.

YoungOnce, you may have missed my earlier point that anger control problems are not the sole province of "spoiled brats", meaning the wealthy and powerful, but also of impoverished persons and of medium-income, non-"spoiled" persons of the middle class.

OK that sounds pretty harsh, and is probably uncalled for. It certainly isn't a very professional attitude, however maybe the light guy IS an idiot, and ****es everybody off, and it was about time somebody told him whats up.

I can agree with you there.
I can tell you I am not rich...LOL
I have been angry and verbally lashed people before with no care as to the repercussions of my anger towards them I could have cared less really.Like after I was angry did they go home and take it out on someone there?
                      Again I didn't know and didn't care.They P!$$3D me OFF I told them so.
I now know and have experienced the other side of things.I have taken anger management courses and do not behaved that way for many years.I never ever threatened to kick somebodies ***** though as a course of my anger. But yes I have also beat people up that deserved it.

I was not spoiled or the centre of the world just angry for a reason that they happened to be a part of at the time.

Now I pause, think about what I would like to convey and then try to move on together in a mutual fashion careful of other peoples feelings.
But if somebody takes a swing or threatens me then game on Grab your arse and kiss it goodbye.I'm going through you like a freight train and years of repressed anger are coming at you with the ability to land.

When he threatened to kick the guys butt I would slapped him around like the little punk he is.
Hopefully they have appologized to each other, and they have both moved on.

You guys might be taken this all out of proportion, who knows what happened earlier that day to get him angry like this. Besides, you guys have never gotten angry and yelled at some one?
I'm sure this stuff happens daily in Hollywood, we just don't know about it

                          Maybe because he's a Welsh-born British actor...

                            Cat you rule.

The guy was doing a very emotional scene. He is the lead in the film. There is a lot of pressure on him. The DP kept walking behind the actress he was doing the scene with. Very hard to concentrate when someone is moving in your field of vision. It was not the first time this had happened. The DP had been doing it repeatedly. He can't know much about the craft of acting if he does not realize how unnerving and distracting that is.

Was Bale's reaction over the top? Probably. Could he have handled it better? Sure. Do I understand why he was upset? Absolutely.
