    Life On Mars

I was kinda disappointed in the return episode of the series after a 2 month break. They left it with a cliffhanger in November and didn't follow up on it- I understand next week has the followup episode, run out of order? Wha?

And what's up with the little nanobot thingies...really annoying.

On the plus side there was less of the intrusive future stuff and the "let's meet the 70s version of everyone that Sam will ever know", which gets boring after awhile. Some good tunes by the Guess Who, and the ending was pretty neat, even if we don't really need any more tension around the 125.

And what's up with Sam jumping in the supply room for some "Afternoon Delight" when he's been so whiney about his 2008 girl Maya up til now? Seemed out of character to me...although when in Rome....

To be honest I forgot what they left hanging. I know he got shot by his Dad. I hate when they do these "winter breaks" now in series. It's even worse with series like LOST and Battlestar Galactica and last season's Heroes.
Now that you mention it, it did seem a little odd. I was thinking the same thing about him getting it on. He was turned on by that girl earlier in the season yet he couldn't bring himself to do anything with her.
Still a great show but I know what you mean about the little robot thingies he keeps seeing. I believe it's supposed to represent some toy or something he had as a kid. I'm sure there will be a big reveal about what these mean soon.
That ending just made me laugh out loud! That was classic!

I presume you are talking about the US version of the show? It would be really interesting to see how the original UK idea was developed for a different audience.

At the end of the Nov episode Sam had driven to a cabin looking for more clues. The phone inside rang and when he answered it a voice told him to go to the basement right away. I guess right away wasn't important enough to do until 2 months & 1 week later. Unless of course, by "basement" the voice meant "have sex". in which case Sam listened to somebody for once.

The first run of episodes of the US series mirrored pretty closely the UK version, especially the ones about his parents which were almost exact copies. Gene Hunt isn't quite as nasty as in the British series (he's no pussycat, but not as hard IMHO).

The new episode seems to have veered off into different territory. Sam sees little robot thingies crawling around people's bodies, & the "new girl" was a surprise (don't want to spoil the end for anyonre who didn't see it yet).

I totally forgot to watch it.

That's the problem with shows going on big breaks and not having any promo's in between.

A good way to lose their audience.

I was dismayed to not see what was in the basement. The show has to lose the whole "Who'd want to carry a phone" type stuff, it's lame. I liked the episode though.
