I know what you mean I wore low top white chucks (before they got hip and colors came back) into the early 90's - I still remember being shocked when they went over 15 bucks a pair in 88.
One day I noticed my knees hurt. I saw an orthopedic doc (wearing my converse as I often did).
He said "you wear those alot?"
I said "All the time"
His reply "here's a script that might help" and hand me a script pad sheet. I expected some miracle drug NOPE it said "BUY some nike Air's"

It was sticker shock to pay 80 bucks for shoes

yeah but well worth it right? nothing like Nike Air,and the funny thing is that it doesn't have to cost you $80 guys,if you go to stores like Ross,or Marshalls you could find them for about $30 or ebay of course
