It was amazing that no one was hurt. My insides turn to mush when I hear about plane crashes in NYC. I'm just glad this one had a happy ending.

Man, can you believe it? No major injuries, no casualties!!

The pilot, the flight crew, the rescue people all need to have medals pinned on their chest and a hero's parade!

BTW, I hope all of you in NYC are watching the coverage on Ch. 7
I have Ch. 7 WABC on in HD, right now, Bill.

Also, if the fan is jammed, it will most likely cause a fire. That's why the pilot has to kill the engine. The plane hit a flock of birds.

True, but at least you probably won't drown. That's half of the battle. Those NY Waterway Ferries have a history of very quick responses in many disasters. These ferries are all over the Hudson. That's not to mention the FDNY and NYPD boats that are always ready to go.

This was in the freezing Hudson river...you won't last long.

Wow, the pilot did a helluva job! All are accounted for and no one, at this point, looks to be seriously injured. The New York Waterway Ferries also did a fantastic job. They got right to the plane after it hit the water...from what I hear within two to three minutes. Of course, the FDNY and NYPD did a great job, as well.

    It was not mechanical failure.

Witnesses are reporting that a flock of geese were sucked in by both engines.

Any plane on the planet will go down if that happens.

It was a very freak accident.

Thank the lucky stars that no one died (except for the poor birds of course).

That is totally freaky. There is nothing scarier than cold frigid water. Chimps and water just don't mix!!!
