My grandparents and uncle and aunt got scanners in the early 80s. We could never have a family dinner without those things squawking.

They used to call my mom every time they heard about a car that was like mine or my sisters. They were constantly waiting for us to get in a tragic wreck, or a speeding ticket. My uncle and aunt were ambulance chasers back then. They'd listen to the scanner and then go rubber-necking.

My uncle still has his. Such a joy to listen to while you eat your mash potatos.

              I still have my scanner.

I havent turned it on for a many years now.

Cellphone calls kept interfering with it once they became the rage.

It would be great for telephone eavesdroppers, but that's not my bag.

My grandfather used to have one, he never turned it or the TV off while you ate. Nothing like a hockey game and a police scanner while you eat your kraft dinner.

Used to listen all the time. They have changed the technology now, where you may not hear both ends of the conversation. After my home town switched to that it was boring and confusing to listen in

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?
