He might have just been a local celebrity who had Creature Feature. He also played Captain 20 and Bozo the Clown.

I picked up a book called Weird Maryland and there was a whole page dedicated to him.

I remember being part of the Captain 20 fan club when I was in Kindergarten and when he did Creature Feature, I watched all kinds of classic movies like "Creature from the Black Lagoon". Anyway, just found out that he has a website. Most of it is hawking merchandise but pretty neat nostalgia nevertheless.
