Well, I went to the doctor today, and he wrote me a note saying I should have my blood drained. But it wasn't good enough. As it turns out, he had to fill out a form and write an actual prescription. And now the clinic has that, but they have to have it approved by some other doctor, so maybe I'll get to have this done next Monday or Tuesday.

feh. At any rate, the condition is called Polycythemia, and can cause all sorts of problems - and giving blood is the best treatment. If they will only take it...

An update - I finally, finally, finally got approved to give blood. I drove the 20 min to the blood center that deals with abnormal blood, and they took my temperature, said it was 99.5, and told me they couldn't take my blood because I might be sick.

Do you ever just want to cry?

In the meantime, my iron content has went up, and I have to wait three days before going back to try again.
