Out of that list, the only one I remember is the WKRP one.

I don't really remember any of those, but I'm sure I saw a few. It seems like "A Christmas Carol" isn't exploited as much anymore. The various movie versions don't air constantly in December like they used to either.

Recently, folks seem to adapt the Rankin/Bass Christmas specials in their holiday episodes. Just the other night I caught a stop-motion Rudolph rip-off sequence in both That 70s Show and George Lopez.

I'm gonna have to disagree on "Family Ties" and "Alice" making the list over the episode from "The Odd Couple"....

I recently rewatched the Family Ties episode and it was horrible, it doesn't hold up as well today as some other Christmas episodes from other shows.

And I absolutely abhor "Alice"....I hate the show with the intense fire of a million buring suns.

I didn't know about the Odd Couple one or else it would have made the list, I love the Odd Couple. I originally titled this list "the hackiest" but changed it to "best" in a beer induced rage.

The Odd Couple one should have been on the list. The Married With Children episode with Sam Kinison is also a classic, but it's based on It's A Wonderful Life, not A Christmas Carol.
A Christmas Carol doesn't get the TV love it used to, but it's one of my favorites.

Here's a little seen version from 1949 featuring Vincent Price!!

Family Ties doesn't hold up well period I don't think. Maybe it's because Alex is stuck in the ME-ME 80s and his parents are stuck in the 60s. It's jarring to watch it now. Probably the reason you don't see it much now.

^ I think you hit the nail on the head...that's pretty much what my comments were to the wife and kids while we were watching this.

Yes, I remember that. It was called "An American Christmas Carol" and it aired every Christmas for most of the 80s, then disappeard. I believe it was set in the 1920s or 30s, and Bob Crachit (or his analog) was played by the tall red-head guy from Animal House (his name escapes me).
