Dave Prowse in Ky

Hey guys. Im a LONG time lurker but very rarely ever post anything. But this is to good not to share.

I have it on good authority that Dave Prowse (Darth Vader) is going to be in Somerset Ky on Aug 20-21st. If anyone is close and wants details please email me.

Like I said I check the forums several times everyday and have for probably 2-3 years. Love the site, I guess I just never have anything interesting to say.

I live in KY myself, near Lexinton. I went to Morehead State, and while I was there I worked a the local comic shop. Prowse did signings for us twice, and I got to hang out with him during his stay. A bit distant, but I thought he was an okay guy, with lots of interesting stories. However, others here who have seen him at cons have had some bad experiences with him.

No kidding. Im really looking forward to it, I am a huge Star Wars fan but never have gotten the chance to meet anyone.

My wife and I live in Somerset so I wont have to go very far. You can go from one end of town to another under 10 minutes.

I hope he's not a jerk. That would suck.

I've never met him but i've heard he suffers from the same dilemma a lot of actors suffer from, when their career is in the trash and they're mostly on the convention circut scaping up money from autograph signings.

They think it's beneath them ... And they make sure they let you know.

Actually, Tattoine may as well be Kentucky. Luke's momma dies, his dad walks out on him, he goes to live with his grandma's stepson. The old guy down the road looks out for him cause he was friends with his pa. Then he meets this hot chick and falls for her, only to find out she's his sister. The bad boy who hangs out at the bar ends up with her.

Sounds like Kentucky to me!

I met David Prowse n the early 80's. Of all places to meet him was in church.

This super tall dude sat in front of me on Sunday, and it turned out to be "Darth Vader" himself. We spoke after services and I got his autograph. He seemed like a very nice fellow.
