    Just one of those Nights

Tonight I sat down to watch The Peanuts christmas special with my kids and my wife and I are enjoying the classic holiday special.

My two year old daughter sits with me and brings over a Disney Tinkerbell plastic tea set as were watching the show she's offering me tea and I was a good Dad playing along and i'm getting a kick out of this with her.

Now this tea set comes with a Plastic shaped teapot that the cups and dishes come in. All of a sudden my daughter picks it up and puts it half way over her head....Thank God I saw it and grabbed it but unfortunatly half of it is now wedge on her head.....i hold it trying to get it off but the damn thing won't come off!!! My wife grabbed my daughter so her head wouldn't go completely in. Now she's in panic mode and my son grabs the phone and calls 911.

Within minutes I have six Fire fighters two guys from Ems and two Police officers......we got my daughter to calm down. Now here's my living room all these guys are now trying to figure how to get this Plastic teapot off my Daughters head.....one says soap, the other grabs liquid hand soap would you believe it still wouldn't come off.......

Finally the EMS guy uses the sheers to cut off casts it's soft enough so it wouldn't hurt my daughter and strong enough to cut the plastic. Which it finally did. She let out a big Yey!! making everyone in the room break into a huge nervous laugh.

I was furious at myself because I didn't realize that the opening was large enough to fit a childs head to go in but not to come out......had i realized that I would have tossed it away......

I Thanked the Good Lord and was great full to everyone for their help ... I just sat there afterwards and just hugged my little one while she recanted her side of the story. I just looked at my Wife and trying to find the humor in this i said admit it you know you thought about The I love lucy show when Lucy got her head stuck in the trophy...My wife sat there nervously laughed and said I though of it afterwards...

    What a night......

Dude, what a scary scenario, I'm glad things turned out ok.

Now that it has been observed by professional witnesses and documented...I would seriously consider talking to a lawyer...you have a solid case going on.

I'm glad your daughter is OK. Do you know what toy company made this? If so, you might wanna call their customer service number and report this. Your kid can't be the first one to have thought of doing this.

oh man ... I feel for you. my niece when she was about 3 was playing and before any of us knew it she fell out of the chair and hit her head on the fire place ... a little bit of blood and a lot of crying... and I was the one to had to take a look and saw just a bit of her skull ... turn out to only be a small cut and nothing done to the skull (Thank goodness) but itfelt like forever for help to come. after a couple stiches she was good to go. But that sick feeling still comes up when I think about it ...and she's 11 now.

OK, now that it is all fine, time for a little joking to lighten the tone....

All you tea-lovin' Brits out there, see what you have done!!!!

You realize this all took place on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party!!! Boston Tea Party - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your daughter is a patriot, with her show of defiance towards the tea-lovin' Brits!!!!

Seriously tho, glad everything is fine. I too, am very watchful when it comes to my kids' toys. I work at a chemical plant and we get "safety first" force fed down our throats every minute we are at work, and I bring it home (it is a good thing). My wife thinks I am too safety minded, almost OCD like.
