Sounds like a riddle I've heard before.

Are you sure you have the trivia question right? Groundhogs drink as far as I know...they are mammals.

Also, a human can go a day without drinking and not die. Actually, a human could be hooked up to an intravenous and never drink without dying.

All of the trivia questions have been good, this one just sounds odd to me.

The do get water, but they do not drink like we see other animals do. They get their water from the food they eat.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say this one is related to them not eating or drinking ...while they hibernate. Of course, I rarely eat or drink while asleep either, although I probably have fallen asleep during a couple of meals, and certainly have passed out while drinking.

Of course the making it up theory works for me too.

A groundhog's diet consists of lots of greens, fruits, and vegetables and very little water. Most of their liquids come from dewy leaves.
