Why is John Cena so disliked?

The WWE is trying its best to make John Cena a crowd favorite...but he keeps getting a LOT of boos no matter what (I watched tonight's Monday Night Raw, and he's still getting plenty of boos).

They played the pity the hero bit, when he was recuperating with all that footage of him growing up, and on his career.

The heels also try their best to get John Cena on the fans' sides' (like Chris Jericho using reverse psychology on the crowd in the name of Cena).

But whatever they try, John Cena still gets tons of boos.

Here's a compilation of Cena and the boos...the worst one is when he appeared in an ECW telecast against RVD...the crowd was brutal, chanting to John Cena..."you can't wrestle"...and "same ol' ****".

I don't know man i don't really see it. I like Cena a lot i watched Armageddon last night and didn't hear the boo's maybe it's just me. I freekin hate Randy Orton I think he sucks. Chris Jericho reminds me a lot of Piper the heal you love to hate........

You got to be kidding me, Randy Orton is the man, he's got great wrestling skills that John Cena wished he had...Orton is a fantastic heel as well.

Pay closer attention, while Cena does get a lot of cheers, there's a lot of booing going on as well...you never hear mixed receptions like that with Triple H, Jeff Hardy, or Batista...it's all 100% cheers with them.

True....... I don't question Orton's skills he's just someone i don't like, never did. I didn't care for the smack he gave Batista on Raw tonight then ran like a little girl......I like that Batista kicked his butt last night at Armageddon....although I didn't care for the Kick in the head he gave Batista tonight on Raw.

One thing Cena isn't the greatest wrestler.....maybe everybody saw his movie the Marine and they're still ****ed about it....

You know Randy Orton is not like that in real life...that's what his role calls for...being a slithering oily sneaky snake, lol....that's why I love him as a heel.

Jericho is a much better heel than a face...he found his calling, lol.

Guess I'm biased...because I love heels, and I hate faces (the exception being the Rock...but that's because he was funny as hell, lol), lol.

I love Orton, Jericho, Edge, JBL, etc...

Yea, some of us do still watch wrestling. Just watched Armageddon last night ( a friend tapes them for me, I don't have cable).
1) I started out not liking Cena - felt like he was just a stupid character trying to cash in on the white rapper gimmic (ala Emineim [sp?]). However, as he came more into himself, I really like him and his character. Probably the stupidest individual move (five finger shuffle? come on!), but his loyalty to the crowd and to the military really makes me like him. Why others don't is beyond me.
2) Orton is a great heel, and a good wrestler. However, he is such a good heel, like Jericho, I cannot ever really like him. With some heels, you have no choice but to have to sort of like them (Triple H, Piper, Flair, Austin), but his character is SO vain and conceited, like Jericho, it makes me not even appreciate his abilities.
3) Right now I would say that Batista, Cena and Undertaker are probably my favorites, although Undertaker is showing his age badly.
4) Notice that there is a lot more submission moves and wearing down tactics and less actual aggressive moves than in the past? Wonder if the insurance rates are going up.

I think a lot of people feel that they have put Cena in a Superman role and they protect him way to much. The Rock lost night after night, but still had his victories and was a crowd favorite. The WWE gives Cena the wins, but it makes some of their other talent look bad. A good example is when he FU'd both Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase at the same time and they were the tag champs and it was a 2 on 1 handicap match. In one moment they made the tag champs who were on a good winning streak look like chumps and made the tag team division look bad. Cena's had a victory or 2 over Intercontinental Champions and that didn't help the value of the IC belt go up. Jericho's return and win of the IC belt brought importance back to that belt.

I like Orton and I love Cena.The thing is that his wrestling skillz aren't as good.So his fan base is mostly little kids,i saw this when I saw him live,the older crowd is like 50-50 with him.

i think older fans don't like him but kids do, women do, so maybe it's jealousy? i like him, and think he's improved alot

WWE Has marketed Cena's character like & are trying to , as if he's Hogan or Stone Cold of today's Wrestling Crowd. I think he sells More mechandise than any SuperStar these days,.. & is extremely popular with Kids today,.. his face is on everything under the sun Associated with the WWE. I think he is the premeire Wrestler.

With that being said,.. I really think it depends on what Town or Crowd the Guy's in,.. whether or not the "BOO's" come in,.. just like any other Wrestler. Batista is a Huge fan Favoirte these days ,.. as well as Tripple H,.. Most fans reconize & know of the Battles between Cena/Batista & Tripple H,.. & perhaps thats where some of the Boo's come from imo.

Something kinda Happened to the WWE around the time Stone Cold & the Rock showed up,.. you didn't just have Good vs Evil anymore. You more so had all these Shades of Grey,.. that pretty much just kick everyone & anyone's arse . Good Guys vs Good Guys ,.. & even Baddies vs Baddies..

As far as Orton goes. He is a Fantastic Character. The greatest Villian in the WWE Today imo. Edge is a Weasel compaired to this guy,.. if anyone could come close to being dubbed a Villian. Orton is the Guy that you can Watch & just Hate , it's great to see what this guy Does imo.

LOL!!! The WWE/WWF was always about Great Heels. I always loved to Hate the bad guy especially when i was a kid Orton and Jericho have that classic Heel thing about them. My all time favs were.Roddy Piper,Adrian Adonis,Ric Flair, Greg The Hammer Valentine, Superstar Billy Graham,Jessie the Body Ventura, Macho Man Randy Savage,I liked when Superfly Jimmy Snuka was a Bad guy and George The Animal Steele to mention a few.
I loved the Rock when he was a heel too

I think Personally Jericho is better but as for who I hate more Orton is the one no Doubt.....I just think when you slap a man and run you should be fighting with Kelly kelly..
