Anybody ever ridden in a helicopter ?

Anybody ever ridden in a helicopter ?

The only helicopter I ever fly in was (I think) a Bell 47G ...
It was the bubble window MASH kind.
About 30 years ago at our local county fair, a pilot was giving rides for $3.00 a pop.
It was a MUST I couldn't pass up

    How 'bout you ?

While in the Air Force they would ferry us out to missile sites when roads were impassable in them. I must have ridden in one about 15 times. Fist time was fun then very routine.

I did when I was in the USAF. I got to ride in a Coast Guard AS365 Dauphine. I did a Few Circuits in the Closed Traffic Pattern at Travis AFB. It was really Fun at the time. I got to wear a Helmet and Hear my Buddy working Local Control. Thats the only time that I've ever been in a Helicopter. I get offers to fly alot but I'm not to eager to Fly anymore. I pretty much drive everywhere I go Nowadays

My Mum took me for a helicopter ride for my birthday one year...got to sit up front with the pilot. It was so exhilerating...flew all over Sydney. I LOVE flying.

I rode in a helicopter at the Oklahoma State Fair many many years ago & it was an amazing experience. It was one of those bell helicopters like on MASH or the 1966 Batman movie. The view was totally insane because the owner put a glass bottom in the thing...loved it!

              Hmmmm....

We did heliborne insertions/extractions one Summer, using the Griffin. It's a lot different from an aeroplane. I didn't feel the helicopter moving, so it always felt like the Earth was rotating uner us while we stood still.

I remember ever since i was a kid wanting to go on the helicopter rides at The Big E - New England's state Fair in springfield MA. however it was right at the entrance and i was always outvoted about getting a ride as everyone else wanted to go in and not wait in line. the i started driving there and my friends didn't want to wait. and i always didn't have money on the way out. so finally i told some friends one year this was it as soon as we got there i'm taking a ride wether they liked it or not. well we got there and wait for it.....

This was the Year.. they stopped giving rides!11

So NO ... I still haven't gotten a helicopter ride. But 1 day.........it will Happen!

I've flown in all kinds of planes (my dad's a pilot), but never a helicopter

Rode in lots of Hueys and Blackhawks in the army. Like txteach says, it get pretty routine after awhile. So much so, that I forget how often I did it. Though, I do remember doing a LOOOONG ride on a Huey across the desert from Ft. Irwin to Nellis AFB and back to escort a VIP in 1988 or so.

Loud rides always. And almost always left me nauseated and ready to get out. Also... the way we always did it, it seemed like it was really crowded!
