I used to like all the bands you mentioned. however most of them have pretty much fallen by the wayside. I was hoping it was a thread about Manchester United Futbol club but that would've been a bust too.

I really love all the music you are talking about. Morrissey has a new album coming out in February, next year. I hope its better than his last, I didn't care for Ringleader.

        Cheers,

        Chris

I love the Smiths. I like Morrissey's solo stuff, but not as much. It's interesting that you mention New Order, but not Joy Division. I thought they were pretty much the same band, minus Ian Curtis.

I believe the proper terminology for the time was "MADchester" lol cuz of all the drugs and stuff. Yeah, I like most of the bands mentioned but was much more into the "shoe gaze" scene of roughly the same era- Swervedriver, Ride, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, etc.

I'm a fan of The Smiths, Morrissey, Joy Division and New Order. I think that's it for me, as far as Manchester bands go.

I loved them all and still listen to those old groups. New Order was my favorite of them.
