Not in the traditional sense as I think at one time it denoted your religious practices but in the whole "this is something outside the mainstream", well maybe.

Ten or Twenty years ago, I'd have said yes but now with companies catering towards collectors, people I know asking me to get them things, I'd say it's starting to be less uncommon.

for sure toy collecting is much more common ... I started in 1991 with Star Wars ... I met maybe 3 people who were into toy collecting ... (not counting the million hot wheels collectors that were around even back then)
