    Charlie horse

I got a terrible one in my calf last night. Is there a way to avoid them? A certain vitamin I can take or food I can eat because that sucker was painful at 2:30 in the morning.

Think I heard something about a lack of potassium possibly causing muscle cramps, so maybe some bananas or oranges would help.

I would get them late at night/early morning as well. They make you want to cry and how the pain sucks. When it happens I would get on my tip toes and stretch them out. I remember my coach telling me lack of water intake, and never heard of any kind of supplement/vitamins to prevent them. I would also like to know a remedy of some sort.

I have heard it was lack of water intake, too. They hurt like hell and not a nice way to wake up in the middle of the night. I had them frequently when I was pregnant. (Oh the joys of pregnancy)!

Bananas are your best best to avoid them. They also help keep your blood pressure at a healthy level.

More water, and bananas, as I also believe it is a potassium\deyhdration thing. Stretching is always good too.

Sometimes you get them if you get cold too. Can't tell you how many times I've gotten one in my legs from them by not having them covered.
