I originally became a part of this place because I was building a
WGSH collection...and then WGSH customs.
I stayed around and posted so much because the group here shared
so many simillar interests.
This board has an odd, yet special chemistry that I appreciate
---I mean, how it survives and thrives---to me, personally, that's due
in a huge part to one factor...that factor being Brian (palitoy) and how
he's replied and reacted to many of my questions and issues in the past.
To me all this stuff defines why I've stayed around and find this to be one
of only two online forums that I check in on consistently.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
I haven't been around for that long and really don't post as frequently as others, but I do visit everyday. I've met some really cool folks!! There is just an amazing amount of knowledge, and not just about Megos or vintage toys... Just a fun, relaxed place to hang.
I myself lurked on and off for some of 2006 and 2007. Joined December 30th 2007 when I found out about the EMCE Trek figures. Been visiting the site daily, chasing the cards and some of the original figures. I only had Kirk and Spock as a kid as I was "too grown up for toys" by the mid 70's! (Cars, Girls and College were my main focus!)
This site is mostly positve and quite refreshing from other collector and car sites I belong too. I visit every day if possible!
Hope to make the MEGO MEET someday when I can break away from the family for a weekend.
Found my way here on Dec 10,06 and haven't left, And all i have to show for it is over 100 differnt vintage MEGOS not counting customs or MEGOS to be used as customs and i have around 90 repo and custom boxes from TOYROOM and MEGO 73 and i'm running out of display room agian and yet i'm still buying more and hanging around here so you tell me
yes! i came here about a year ago to sell off my leftover mego parts after selling off 95 percent of my collection 5 years earlier and before you know it i'm back in the game again!!
Well let's see. I've been making browsing stops here since about 1997 and always stay a bit longer than I intended.
You can: Never gain too much information; Let alone grow a vintage toy collection one piece at a time without really needing to depend on re-issues; Meet great people from all walks of life; Plus admire the talent that emunates around this place.
Yep, for reasons like that, I think it can be habit forming.
^^^Of course we are better then CNN for all your MEGO news after all when was the last time Lou Dobbs talked about Jet Jungle or the recently discovered proto type Bill figure?
It comes in waves for me. When I first joined I was on here all the time. Lately I have been checking in every couple of days. I have really been enjoying the galleries lately. Always new tidbits to find in there.
I tend to really get into it for periods of time then take a little time off and return. It's kind been like that for a few years now.
One of my favorite spots on the net though without question.
