    Traditional Eggnog Recipe
    12 eggs, separated
    6 cups milk
    2 cups heavy/ thickened cream
    2 cups bourbon
    1+ ½ cups sugar
    ¾ cup brandy
    2 teaspoons ground nutmeg

In a large bowl and using a mixer, beat the egg yolks together with the sugar for approx 10 minutes (you want the mixture to be firm and the colour of butter).
Very slowly, add in the bourbon and brandy - just a little at a time.
When bourbon and brandy have been added, allow the mixture to cool in the fridge (for up to 6 hours, depending on how long before your party you're making the eggnog).
30 minutes before your guests arrive, stir the milk into the chilled yolk mixture.
Stir in 1+ ½ teaspoons ground nutmeg.
In a separate bowl, beat the cream with a mixer on high speed until the cream forms stiff peaks.
In yet another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the egg white mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
Gently fold the cream into the egg mixture.
After ladling into cups, garnish with the remainder of the ground nutmeg.

    Serves: 8.

Since eggnog is made up of eggs and milk, two ingredients that are both very time sensitive for spoiling I am not sure how well the average person could possibly ship some. I would think you would need to use dry ice or something.
It is possible that you might be able to do a search online and find some place that will ship some to you.
Here is a link talking about what eggnog is:
Eggnog is a sweetened dairy-based drink made with milk, cream, sugar, beaten eggs, ...
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

It's definately a seasonal beverage and I love it. Yummy. Some add it to coffee in place of cream as well, as with liquor like someone mentioned. Liquor is not necessary. IMO best served cold. It probably wouldn't ship well, but you could follow the recipe and probably make it yourself.

I've never had homemade egg nogg, just the bought stuff. We always get some around the holidays. Since my wife and I don't drink alcohol, we toast the New Year in with egg nogg.

Around her Trauth Dairy makes a good brand. Jim Varney (as Ernest P. Worrel) used to be their spokesperson years ago.

The only honemade egg nog I ever tried was PINK and gross. I like the store bought stuff. My fave brand is Borden canned, but I can't find it anymore. So I usally just get the store brand.

                            Wow... egg nog!

During the holidays we have a couple a week with Jack Daniels, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The kids like it as well (without the Jack). It's just not Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year without it. Might be a good Chanukah drink, but I'm not sure it's kosher! Kwanzaa too. Good for Festivus!
