Last round for Channel of the Apes

Ok, all of the original movies are running one last time and then Channel of the Apes is over. How many of you who get FMC have watched these more than once. Truth be told, I haven't watched any of them all the way through as I've been doing other things, but it's been on for the most part throughout the weekend. Farewell Channel of the Apes, it's been fun!

I watched Planet of the Apes three times in a row yesterday...but only really concentrated on the screen when the apes were on. The rest of the time I was customizing stuff.

I watched it at various tiomes throughout the weekend but other than some of the specials in between movies did not watch anything in it's entirety. It was cool though

I know what you mean, Jess. I have all the movies on tape, as well as the TV series, but this was an event! All the cool in between stuff and seeing Ken and Marty Abrams talk about the Megos and all. It was just fun!

I stayed up until 1AM to see Conquest on Thursday night, a movie I am not particularly fond of. Just had to see the chimp getting shot in the face.

I just love when they have these marathons...and I know they usually have an apes marathon to look forward to during New Years!!

I've been watching the POTA Movies all the way through. I almost watched them all. I have them Recorded on my DVR and I'm gonna watch the rest tomorow when I get out of work. I'm loving it

Yeah, I recorded High Grade VHS Video tapes 3 times... I edited 2 times due poor picture from my cheap crap VCR/DVD and I swapped it to new regular VCR. Finally, it's all very good picture, sounds and colorful!

That took me 3 days and nights to edited all that thing...... but I'm glad to finished recorded with a better High Grade VHS tapes! (SLP - 6 hours each tapes) Now I have 2 set of "Channel Of The Apes" Video tapes (2 tapes - video #1 & #2 (good) and 2 tapes - video #1 & #2 (excellent!)

I'm very lucky I didn't missed all of them!

When I setted up on recorded tapes, I watched them a lot and felt asleep on the couch 3 times at nights.

The movie I watched the most of when it was shown was Escape. Other than that i caught bits and pieces. I DVR'd the movies multiple times to pick up all the interstitial stuff with the interviews and the Ape FMC takeover bits. I put The TV movies, Beneath (because I heard there were some audio deletions on the DVD which were corrected with the new transfer shown here), Conquest and the TV movies on DVD-R along with a lot of the interstitial bits.

Yes, even though I have the movies on DVD, it was just fun to switch over to FMC during the weekend knowing you'll be seeing something from POTA. Loved the interviews, especially Marty Abrams (who I said in another thread sounds exactly like Robert DeNero to me).

I watched only the latter half of Conquest (where most of the additions are) and the additions are interesting and the ending is certainly more powerful. I am glad they toned it down for the kids though in 1973 though.

It's always interesting to note that Before Conquest, all the Ape movies are Rated G. It's most surprising, these days when looking at POTA. The violence and the astronaut butts.

I think that the MPAA of the time considered the violence "fantasy violence" and the butt shots were okay because they were men and non sexual.

I wish they'd do it again...and soon! I loved not having to press play after the DVD is over, or rewinding my tapes.

Thank you, Commander. I redid her brown undergarment, because the Sideshow one is not screen accurate. Someday when I have the time, I plan to redo the green jacket of my Sideshow Zira because the color is off.

I can't remember which episode it was exactly, but there was a point where they showed an ape flag "blowing" in the breeze, and you could definitely see a string lifting up and "waving" the flag...70s cheeziness in all its glory! I never noticed that before. Gosh that was a fun run...
